Mayweather vs Castillo(not today, but recently) Like my 4th time seeing this fight. Scored it 8-3-1 for Floyd

Margarito-Cotto..It wasn't just the handwraps. Margs continually walked Cotto down and exposed him as mentally weak. That 11th round is the definition of wilting under pressure.

Golota vs. Po'uha!

Brutal superheavyweight slugfest!

Po'uha is beating the crap out of a Golota on queer street in round 4, then Foul Pole bit Po'uha on the neck (drawing blood despite the moutpiece being in) & shoulder-barged him!

Gil Turner v Garnett Hart

Another war involving Turner - this one late in his career. Hart seemed happy to stand and trade however and both guys landed hellacious shots throughout. Turner crowded Hart with solid bodywork and an effective overhand right and Hart countered with uppercuts and left hooks to the body. Great fight.

My copy is B&W - silent but missing rds 2 & 7. If anyone has the complete version let me know.

I'd never heard of this pair before and stumbled upon this by accident.

What a great fight. Impressive recovery by Hong.

Ha! Extraordinary. Can't say I've seen very many fights quite like that.

Duran/Leonard I
144-143 (9-6) for Leonard.
This was one of those fights that any 3 judges could have scored either way. I was a surprised that I scored it for Leonard. When he was on the outside he was in control. More on this in a bit. On the inside he took Duran's best shots and came right back with his own effective shots.
Even though I scored the fight for Leonard, I kind of think that he deserved to lose. He did two of the things that you should not do in combat. The first is he did not use his stringth whis was to stay on the outside and use angles, this leads into the second avoide taking on your oppoent head on. Leonard showed a lot of courage and toughness. However at the end of the day these things don't win fights. Stragaty, skills, style and adjustments wins fights. It was a Duran style of fight, and I think that is what the judges scored the fight on.
he diffrence in the fight was the last three rounds. All of which I gave to Leonard. He stole the 13th round, won the 14th and Duran gave away the 15th. With Duran giving the 15th away in a close fight an argument can be made that like Leonard he too also deserved a loss but less so.
It was an exciting fight that Duran got the official decision. It wasn't a robbery. I just fell despite Leonard fighting the wrong fight, I fell that he was the better man.

Larry Holmes v Michael Spinks II

I scored this 8-5 and 2-even for Holmes. Larry was definitely robbed in this one as I think most would agree.

I was surprised at Spinks' lack of stamina as the fight wore on especially since he coasted the first 4 rounds which I gave to Larry. I don't think Spinks carried the extra weight well as he went 15rds against Qawi with no trouble but really seemed fatigued against an ageing Holmes and was obviously distressed in the later rounds when he went back to his corner which was uncharacteristic.

For anyone interested in trading - my copy is excellent quality, the full HBO show with good pre-show and post fight interviews - really nice.
