I like Armstrong but Sandy had to be watched with thumbs and lacing..Close win over 15, Hank may get swelled up but his workrate prevails

I think Pep stands a better chance of outboxing Hank stylewise TBH, I might actually lean that way in a FWT bout.
I like Saadler to do a butcher job on Henry's face and w/ his pipestem arms, stop Armstrong late. Problably the best action matchup of all except for Arguello-"Little Red" in the feathers.

Nah mate, it'd be tough.

The poster above me thinks Armstrong would be stopped. I really don't think that's possible - well, it could happenI suppose, but it's about as likely as Carlos Monzon stopping Marvin Hagler. I understand that most people are talking about cuts here rather than concussion, but still; Armstrong's skin wasn't particularly fragile until his best days were behind him.

Can't blame anyone for going with Saddler based on the Fritzie Zivic fight. But I can't imagine that scenario occuring very often, I mean, Armstrong's face was really torn and swollen. He couldn't even see the punches coming at him.

But we're talking about featherweight anyway. Although Armstrong would beat Zivic (he proved it, later) at his best, by 1940 he was worn and scarred, and probably slightly out of his depth after such a hectic career in a weight division above where he was most comfortable. There's a reason he rarely weighed in as a proper welterweight, and that's because he wasn't one. Neither was Saddler.

Nobody could deal with Armstrong at 126-130lbs, and I can't imagine Saddler being able to either. He was destroying the opposition.

And let us also remember that Saddler could be hit, and often.

Ive always sided with Saddler...only just. I dont really base it on a hell of a lot, as Ive seen nothing of Armstrong in his early career.

Id give him a pretty good chance of actually forcing a stoppage here after a brutal fight...One of the few I think it capable of doing this to Hank at 126-130.

How do you see it?
Nice one JT. I see Armstong winning on points, but looking more like the loser with many bumps and bruises on his face when the fights over.

Saddler was tougher then show leather, had great power at his weight, and could dirty fight with the best of them. In the end Armstrong was too busy and had the better skill, but he'd age a year and a day after Saddler if he mixed it with Saddler.

This would be one hell of a war. I think Armstrong takes it though.

Im split on that, if he did stop him it would be very late on in a war no doubt, like rd 15 late, that sorta shit.

Under today´s rule a stoppage for either fighter is well possible. Under the rules fo Armstrong´s or Saddler´s times I don´t think it´s very likely Armstrong stops Saddler.
