That is one thing you cant question is Ruiz's work ethic. he is always there and available to fight anyone, anywhere. He's the dude they to work on Christmas Eve or Thanksgiving.... He is one boring mo-fo to watch though.

Chris Byrd in his last fight; John Ruiz in going the distance against Chagaev; Jameel McCline in his undefeated streak (the Valuev fight should have been a no-contest) etc. etc.

Ruiz should get credit for taking on all comers.

I think he redeemed himself a bit in his fight with Chagaev which was quite an interesting one. The first 6 rounds contained a lot of infighting, close range etc. By the 8th/9th, Ruiz started to tire and went back to holding more, but it was a good fight.

Seriously, there hasn't been a good heavyweight fight in forever.

He held a bit more at the end but by no means excessive. Chagaev was tired to...Ruiz actually hurt him pretty good at the end of the 11th.

Say what you want about Ruiz, but he's always fought the best, never made money an issue, stayed active by HW standards, and always could fight for 12 rounds. People can hate on the guy but his fights weren't THAT bad. I'd rather watch a rugged infight with clinching than Taylor-Spinks...two guys posturing, throwing 25 punches per round, none of which ever land.

Get'em Jawny!!!

So Ruiz would never hurt his back? That is basically what you are saying.

That Brewster fight was awhile ago, over a year ago, but yeah that Holyfield fight was pretty good, but nothing else has been even remotely interesting.

This is just the latest attempt by Oleg to avoid Peter, he is finally being stripped of a title he should have lost along time ago to Peter.

No, he'd just hold excessively or fake low blows to cheat his opponents of their opportunity to win the fight WITHIN the rules - and if that didn't work, Don King would get him a gift decision like he did in the third Holyfield fight and the Golota fight.

Despite their injury problems, at least Vitali and Maskaev were legitimate FIGHTERS who won their fights WITHIN the rules. Ruiz was a glorified clubfighter who wouldn't have won a single fight at the world class level if it wasn't for the influence of Don King!

Yeah I gotta give old Johnny Boy credit for that BUT, I refuse to watch him again unless he's fighting somebody that could possibly punch his face off!
