Under rated fight. Just finished watching him become the first man to stop pernell whitaker, yes whitaker was finished but he was a big favourite going into that fight, carlos never avoided any one takeing on top prospects at short notice, also had some decent wins over contenders tony marshall, grady brewer, Nnck acevedo, and tuck world title challenger alex bumema to a draw. Not bad for a guy who had no amature experience and never tuck up boxing til the age of 25.

Whitaker broke his clavicle bone. Hardly a convincing victory. Aside from that he's one of the least worthy fighters to ever receive their own thread on this forum. Good work.

It was another day at the office for Pea (who was 37 years old and hadn't fougnt in two years) until he broke his clavicle in I believe the second round. He fought the rest of the fight that way, which is why he was basically playing defense the entire time. Never on any subject you've spoken on have you typed an entire sentence that wasn't cringe-worthy. Would you please leave now?

WHittaker did good the first couple of rounds but at the end Bojorquez was getting to him and was about to put a beating on Whittaker.
Bojorquez was maybe a fringe contender but what he lacked in skills he made up for with Heart, toughness and power. He made the most of what he had. |

Bojorquez's win over Whitaker earned him a fight with a comebacking Quartey on the undercard of some PPV event. Bojorquez gave a gutty effort and pressured Quartey to the ropes for much of the fight, but Quartey gradually countered his ass into a late round stoppage.
That's the last I ever saw or heard of him. |

We've discussed far worse fighters on this forum, to be sure. Bojorquez wasn't at all outstanding, but he wasn't at all bad either, and tt actually was a really gutsy effort from Whitaker to hang in there for as long as he did with a perfectly serviceable journeyman/ fringe contender type. Like another poster said, Bojorquez made the most of his limited talent, and fighters like that don't often get enough credit around here. |
