Now that there is no HW champion and Lesnar may never return to the Octagon again, and White is making such matches as Liddell/Ortiz III and Couture/Coleman as headline main events....I have a bad feeling that 4-1 Kimbo Slice will be the main star attraction in the UFC's HW division; 5.2 million television viewers don't lie, Dana White is going to sell the shit out of Kimbo Slice despite the Houston Alexander match sucking goat balls.
Mark my words. |

I'm just saying the UFC HW division sucked anyways, and now with Lesnar gone, whose going to be getting the push? Couture is facing Coleman ffs in a battle of the ages (the middle ages that is), and who else stands out but Shane Corwin? With fat bastard Roy Nelson now in the UFC and Kimbo, mark my words, Dana's gonna try like hell to make Kimbo seem more than he is, and sell the hell out of him, like he did Lesnar.

I think with Lesnar out that puts a big hole in the division but there's still alot of names out there for potential matchups. I think NOG & Mir will be the top 2 heavyweights of the division now, but the division is still there for the taking.
They can try and milk Kimbo for all he's got but we all know that would be a load of bullshit. I think if the company is gonna start giving anyone a push it should be Pat Barry. He deserves it way more than Kimbo and has the skills to back it up. Infact, Barry should get that fight next so he can get more exposure. But look at the division as it stands right now. NOG Mir Dos Santos Velasquez Carwin Barry Kongo Rothwell Gonzaga Buentello Nelson The signing of Gilbert Yvel Sure doesn't seem like a weak heavyweight division when you look at it. There's lots of potential there, Kimbo is just a "name" compared to these guys. I seriously doubt he can beat any of them, but I'll give him credit for trying when it's time to fight one of these guys. Liddell vs Ortiz 3= Garbage. Couture vs Coleman= Garbage. As far as 205, all the attention & spotlight should be on the guys coming up and that deserve it. Machida Shogun Belfort Evans Griffin Rampage Jones T. Silva Vera Franklin Little NOG Bader There's alot of talent to work with. Not those washed up has beens that the company recycles. Horrible. Last edited by Dynamite Kid; 12-11-2009 at 04:04 PM. |

The heavys have always sucked in the UFC.
I think he'll need a Heavyweight tourney to crown the new champion, I think Mir in the with e next ranked contender isnt exciting enough and wont launch any new names, itll just be the same recycles guys over and over. have a tourney which includes, Carwin, Valasquez, Mir, Kongo and add Couture and Kimbo for name value, that way when Valasquez or Carwin win, they will be names themselves... UFC does not want to go down the interim title route again, that never works! |

When has an Interim title ever worked in any combat sport? It was rampant in boxing during WW2 with so many lineal champions drafted into the military; Jimmy Bivins, for instance, was the HW Interim champion, but when Louis came back Bivins was quickly dismissed and lost his title status.

The UFC heavy division historically has always been piss weak. Even if Lesnar is out indefintly it matters not as there the main org to beat. Strikeforce is doing very well but lets not get ahead of ourselves yet. Plus Dana can try and sell Kimbo as much as he wants. But the chickens will come home to roost with that one that much im sure of. He gave EliteXC hell for selling the organisation off Kimbo Slice and now he's ready to do exactly the same retract all the bullshit he said about Kimbo and make some dough off him.
