This is actually a very good match-up, and one that would probably produce a very good fight. Both of these men were key players during the perspective times that you provided and both possessed good power and skill. Spoon could take it a little better though, and was also a natural heavyweight with the proven ability to go 15 rounds. Moorer was better than people gave him credit for, but the version of Holyfield that he barely squeaked by, was not up to par for their meeting in April of '94. Moorer struggled hand in fist with this version of Holy as well as with the likes of Bert Cooper, Everett Martin and even Mike White. Frankly, I think Spoon in his 20's from the time he battled Holmes, to the time he KO'd Bruno, would beat Moorer in a very competitive and probably important heavyweight bout for some title or another.

I think Tim hits to hard...i think what won moore the holyfield fight had as much to do as the problems holy had has the things moore did right. Im not saying holy was having a heart attack..but he was definitly less then he normall was...and even less then he would be a few years later. Moore seemed to show a shaky chin...and i think at some point that overhand smash would have caught moore.

Spoon' because he had a better chin and hits as hard as Moorer. Witherspoon was also a very underrated boxer. He had a nice jab and knew how to set up his great right hand with it.

Spoon' by 7th round kayo

In truth, I feel '84 Spoon could knockout '94 Moorer if he pressed hard enough, but I strongly feel Spoon by decision is more like it......... Moorer the better boxer, while Spoon the stronger and harder puncher with good skills, as well........... I pick Spoon.........
