De La Hoya also had/has a beautiful style too watch. He was clean, didn't get tied up much and always on balance so he moved in and out and threw lovely fast combinations, mixing it up from head to body. Think I Could watch him all day.

GREAT thread.

My picks are:
Cassius Clay
Prime Tyson
Prime Suger Ray Leonard (although old SRL is good aswell)
Prime RJJ
ODLH (Top Class conversion of olympic amatuer style to pro)
Pernell Whitaker

I also think Cotto's cool, he moves very fluently and when he gets his rythm he's just one flowing motion tearing his opposition apart with vicious hooks to the body etc.

I wouldn't |call| their style elegant or flashy, but guys like Ken Norton and Marvin Hagler had a way about them like they could always recoup after getting tagged and move forward again and again, relentless and fearless.

Mike Tyson
Floyd Patterson
Jose Torres

The peekaboo style to me was aesthetically pleasing.

Great call on Winstone. Read a quote by Angelo Dundee who said he was the closest hes seen to Willie Pep. A family friend sparred Winstone for his 3 world title fights against Salvador and said he was an extraordinarily talented guy who you would have to see in the flesh in the gym to appreciate just how good he was

Muhammad Ali in the 60s, specifically 1964-67 was beautiful to watch, so fluid, fast & sharp.

My favourites would be:

Ralph Dupas
Lionel Rose
Willie Pastrano
Isaac Logart
Luis Rodriguez
Jose Stable
Jose Napoles
Nicolino Locche

I can watch these guys all day long, so much skill and finesse on display its a joy to watch. Its just too bad we don`t see the same kind of boxing skills that these men possessed very often nowadays, such a shame really.

I thought he was ugly to watch. Its a subjective thing I guess.
