Interesting. Well, if HBO truly did lower its offer by that much (4.5 to 2.5), then you can understand how Taylor might balk at the change. I still expect the fight to happen, but Taylor and HBO are probably going to need to air some differences first.
If Taylor takes less money to fight someone else or more money for a bullshit fight against a Trinidad or Jones, then I'll be talking shit on him just like everyone else. He needs to fight Pavlik. |

Who the hell is the investment analyst/manager over there? A white American middleweight champion who can crack? Thats a promotional outfits wet dream. And before you go calling me a racist, think back to the Cooney debacles. |

It sucks for Taylor, if they are indeed pulling back on their initial offer, but who else is he going to fight? The article mentions Tito possibly, but now there are reports that he is going to fight RJJ, so who else could Taylor possibly fight?

Taylor pulled the same trick with Calzaghe,ie pricing himself out of the fight because he didn't really fancy it. Pavlik looks pretty good to me and probably looks pretty good to Taylor too, hence unrealistic demands again

Winky Wright, Cory Spinks Kassim Ouma, , Raul Marquez , Grady Brewer , Freddy Cuavas, Alex Bunema that is an impressive list. Even Daniel Edouard ,a small MW moved down to 154 now. Taylor almost fought /wanted to fight a MW Sergio Mora (19 W 4 Ko's) easily the weakst punching prospect in the MW division. Taylor has 3 title defenses all against smaller ,weak punchers but skilled fighters. What is the deal with Taylor fighting so many smaller fighters that cannot punch since Taylor moved in up comp as a prospect??? Taylor has never really faced a puncher to be honest, the best puncher would be Hopkins who is more of a boxer. |

Pavlik will get his shot sooner or later, HBO is trying to make a name still for Taylor so a fight with Trinidad might serve them better, but as far as Taylors legacy goes if he does not fight Pavlik he would have lost everything he gained by beating Hopkins.
either way a fight with Trinidad might not be so bad, we might actually see Taylors ass knocked the fuck out especially with the way he has looked in recent fights. |

This is exactly what is wrong with boxing, there is a young undefeated chapion in his prime and a young undefeated knockout artist also in his prime is stepping up and challange him, a perfect match. Instead these young champions are fighting old legends past their prime and those great matchups between two undefeated prime fighters are not materializing.

Fuckin' Taylor. I never thought he'd pull this crap. He knows fighting Pavlik means the end to his "0" in the loss column. Pozdrawiam
