Default Bigger Comeback KO: Marciano/JJW or Big George/Moorer

No poll, just want the classic's opinion. both legendary champs, both behind on the cards in the championship rounds, both dropped their man w/ huge rights...

historically, which one is bigger? Rocky's b/c of what it signaled the beginning of or George's b/c of the age factor?

i can see it both ways just wanted to get yall's opinion.

The Marciano one is more devastating.

The Foreman one might be more dramatic.

It's a tough one to call.

as i recall...there is a famous pic of jjw's face being rearranged w/ a right hand but i don't think that was the right that dropped him. but your right, it was devastating

Marciano, easily. Foreman's punch was slow and looked like shit to be honest. Jersey Joe's one punch KO of Ezzard Charles was much better aesthetically, too.

rocky was more devistating and it was the start of a legend .. foreman on the other hand .. had alot of advantages despite age that rocky just didn't have! so i'd go with rocks ...

Foreman / Moorer .. George lost every minute of the fight up until the final ... Rocky fought a terrific fight against Joe and was in it all the way ....

i agree that the rock's shot was much more pure than what big george threw. in fact, when george first threw it and it landed...in that split second i didnt think it would do all that much damage. but when i say "bigger" i kinda meant in historical terms as well. shoulda clarified that but you are right

As a knockout Maricano’s was better, he knocked out a better fighter in brutal fashion after being on the floor himself. However Foreman comeback was better as he wasn't just coming back from a few rounds it was coming back from 20 years to once again recapture the world title. Add the age factor and it puts Big George's comeback higher.

yeah the age factor cannot be overlooked w/ big george but the rock did lay the hurt to jjw.

The age of George was a big thing but Moorer was a split title champ, JJW was the lineal champ.for The punch itself Marciano's punch was one of the hardest most compact power shot and it was a blast. Foreman landed a few rights hands after the jab and the final one did the job....great feat by George but as far as which was better Marciano/ Walcott was the best...Weaver/Tate and then Foreman/Moorer

My bad, i just woke up and didn't read the "comeback" part of the question. Yeah, then i'll go with Foreman vs Moorer.

i think too much is made of how far behind rock was. he WAS behind but the rounds rocky lost were hard fought and he made an impresion on walcott throughout. It was a shock ending but often champs have not retained their titles in that kind of fight, rocky was in it.
in this respect george was not in his fight with moorer. moorer had the upperhand throughout. foreman was merely a stuborn obsticle, he was not winning exchanges. moorer was a linear champion, i think its posibly a beter come from behind win but theres an argument moorer lost concentration where as walcot was beaten to the punch in the fight of his life. marciano-wallcot was an all out war, both were going for the KO all night.
moorer was pacing himself and trying to stay away from foreman who was waiting for moorer to slow down a speed. moorer lost that fight as much as foreman won it where as walcot gave all he had. george did not win by accident he earned it but it was a freak win, much more unexpected. he had not fought for 17 months and did not deserve that shot so its way more of an upset.
