I dont see it being a whitewash on the cards though..I do see Camacho doing better and winning rounds with his speed, just not enough.
I have to laugh at the question as Camacho avoided Chavez for years? I actually think it would have ended sooner as there would have been any indicators as to what Chavez was truly capable of. I dont see anybody beating Chavez 1984 to 92. Rosario was supposed to demolish him and Mayweather was supposed to destroy him.

Just watched the Martinez fight the other night and I have no doubt about the outcome of this proposed match-up.

This is before he learned to hate Camacho. Chavez feels pity and stops him in 8.

Hector was the main headliner before Chavez by at least a year.

Same age, same division. Why didnt JC come forward and challenge for his position as head of the class?

Chavez by wide UD... again.
He sure had enough chances to prove it but his schedule was too full with the Tijuana cab drivers

Camacho was a braver fighter pre Rosario, and Chavez was not quite at his best in 1984. I see a Chavez/TaylorI type scenario, with Camacho winning early rounds with his speed, but Chavez slowly breaking him down.

If it is a 12 rounder Camacho WM12 (7-5); if it a 15 rounder, Chavez WU15 (8-7), sweeping the championship rounds with a couple of 10-8's to boot.

No it wasn't; Camacho just kept turning him down.

Yep.

Chavez was a flat out better fighter and for whatever advantages Camacho has in speed Chavez trumps him with strength, power, accuracy, ring generalship and technique.

Camacho was a front runner par excellence but against an already seasoned Chavez he'd be running, clinching and surviving just like he was in 1992.

Every time Camacho was hurt or rattled he dogged it (Rosario,Chavez,Trinidad,De La Hoya) and Chavez poured hurt on practically everyone he met pre-1993 ,so I don't see how this would be any different.

The great fighter beats the talented but mentally weak fighter again.

Chavez still beats his ass!! Althogh he has a few diffuclties along the way he still takes this 116-112 instead of the 119-109 Chavez gave him at 140.

Camacho UD. Hector was a terror at 130, a hyperactive machine gun speed demon. Above that weight, he slowed down a bit. (I wanna see him fight his kid. That's one of the very few matches I'd even think about purchasing a ticket for today.)

I think you could count the number of fighters who beat Hector Camacho at 130 on your hand, and Julio isn't one of them. Hector by 8-4 in rounds. Finally, Yesssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss!
