Antonio Joao Bento TKO's Innocent Anyanwu in 10 for EBA SFW title.

Today in Hilversum, Netherlands.

Innocent looked slow and lethargic from the start. But it was a war as both guys were landing bombs from the second round on.

In the 10th Bento landed a big uppercut that put Innocent down. He got up on spaghetti legs but moments later the ref stepped in as Innocent stood defensively against the ropes.

It was the first time in years since the Dutch public channel broadcasted a boxing fight.

Innocent seems to be up there with Ola and Friday as the John, Matt, and Steve of Nigerian first names.

So were rumors of Joval staging a comeback after the loss to McGirt Jr. just wishful thinking? Maybe for the best if he can't hang with the young guns anymore..

How many more times do you think Mike Oliver will pick on his old pal Castulo Gonzalez? Probably next time he steps up in class and gets KOed and needs to rebuild his confidence again, eh?

He needs to step up and fight top 15 Euro guys.

I definately favor him over Joao Bento, Nohales and possibly Fegatilli.

That's a shame.

I would actually watch him were he to fight someone decent and I think more would too. I mean he's got enough coverage in the press.

Got no idea who his backers are but the other guys in the division at least in Europe or Latin America aren't earning a lot of money.

Innocent is decent brawler. He has average head movement and forgets where he is when he is pinned on the ropes or hit clearly. He doesn't have ANY lateral movement at all. He throws with conviction but the power isn't really there. All in all a soso fighter.

I don't see him getting any higher in the rankings if he doesn't learn alot of new tricks.

He constantly wants to unload with powershots and was ''lucky'' Bento fought Innocent's fight by standing in front of him (although Bento punished Anyanwu there too). When Bento started to stick and move late in the fight Innocent was nowhere.
Smart strategy by team Bento: first they wore him out and then started to box.
