Nah it'd probably piss me off. I mean some stuff you don't need to hear. Generally the top fighters know what fans think of them, I know for example Paulie knows he has fans, but also a lot of haters who no doubt say shit about him. He knows that, there's no point coming on here reading people calling you Malifaggi etc, like I said it'd just piss you off. If I was domestic level though I'd come on here all the time and get people to feed my ego

According to the scene, Khan's contract guarantees him $1.25m per fight (without British TV!). After reading that I'm not surprised he jumped ship, well done to the lad for maximising his earnings.

However, HBO is only putting up $1.5m for the Malignaggi fight so obviously that's not enough to meet Khan's minimum AND give Paulie a fair purse. A lot of promoters are pissed off that HBO's exclusive deal with Golden Boy allow GBP to offer such high minimums to someone like Khan (who is unknown in the States) whereas a lot of known US fighters get nowhere near as much.

I really feel that Khan will end up regret joining Golden Boy. For once I have to say I agree with Frank I really do not rate them when it comes to building up a fighter.

Yeah, it's definitely a case of the tail wagging the dog over there.... much like it is here actually.

The difference is that HBO have been known to take TV dates off the likes of Bob Arum to accomodate GBP, they were even going to put Mosley vs Mayorga (a pretty meaningless fight) on PPV..... I think HBO will relent and put the money up to allow them both a fair split - only because of the GBP connection.

Here Sky just buy shit fights, under the ''the main event has to be a title fight'' policy.... one that according to Buncey on his WillHill podcast might be changing, which is good news. A fight has to be appealing, after all.

Khan vs Paulie ought to be a 50-50 split or close to it..... Khan isn't really a salesman and faced a bum last time out, whereas Malignaggi has it off to a fine art and is coming off a career best win over Diaz.

Paulie is a 'chump'?

Although I agree that getting outboxed by Hatton is a stupid thing to allow, he's looked much better since leacing Buddy McGirt. He also has a chin, which means he's harder than Khan by default.
