Default Cotto Can't Rule Out Future In MMA

[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

Former WBA welterweight champion Miguel Cotto was in Columbus, Ohio, to watch [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] compete at WEC 47. Cotto sat down with Sherdog.com to talk about his work with the former WEC bantamweight champion as well as his thoughts on [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]’s move into MMA.

Cotto, despite dabbling with Torres, maintained that he is focusing on regaining a championship as a boxer for the moment, but did leave the door open to a possible transition to MMA somewhere down the line.

Not compared to fighting the Pacquiaos and Mosleys of the world thats for sure. Thing is though Cotto is considered past his prime in boxing and im sure his family does want him to become brain dead and lets face it the chances of that are more likely in boxing. After a few more fights Cotto who is a big star in boxing could sign a James Toney like contract with the UFC and make a few 6 figure paydays which no matter which way you look at isnt bad money. If he still wants to compete and make decent money then MMA could be an avenue for him in a couple of years. Id rather see Cotto do it and make a serious run in his early or mid 30s rather then a slurred speached 41 year old James Toney do it.

+1 Also Cotto has more power than Toney and a devastating body attack. If Cotto really focused on MMA now he could, theoretically, become a real name in MMA.

Cotto's style is better suited to MMA than Toney's.

Cotto did a personal interview, where he gave his thoughts on MMA and his possible future in it..

Not much but worth listening too ..

I'm starting to wish ESB had an 'allow' list instead of an 'ignore' list. No more than a couple dozen people on this site worth reading anymore. This is just getting way to sad.

Tell me about it Hermit...Kids say the damnest things on here!

It sad to see people like him say stupid shit like that...I mean Cotto fought his ass off and his fans like him that find the smallest things to complain about!

Quite sad man!
