I always envision this as a pretty wide UD victory for Tyson.

Weren't they fairly close to fighting at one time? I seem to recall a very old ring magazine with them but of course Tyson going to jail messed that up.

I sort of think of this as going as Foreman's fight with Holyfield, though it is hard to say because I don't think Tyson ever had the activity of Holyfield, but then again he didn't really need it in 1988.

I love to contradict myself, but Tyson UD is my answer.

With Rooney in his corner and Tyson having the best year of his career along with Foreman just getting his feet wet again in boxing, Tyson wins in pretty one sided fashion. Post Rooney and post Douglas, with Foreman having about 20+ comeback bouts behind him, it would have been a better fight around 1991.

Tyson, most likely hed follow the same plan they did vs Holmes.
Work the body, and then go for the stoppage.

He might not KO Foreman, but hed probably stop him on his feet

Foreman would man handle Tyson and get him out of there by knockout or stoppage.

Much as I love Big George, Tyson would've hurt him, I'm afraid. Maybe permanently.

Some of these comments are beyond absurd. Any version of (active) Foreman, from the early 70s to 1997 beats Tyson badly. All of Foremans mobility disadvantages would be negated, as Tyson would charge right into Foremans uppercuts and get KO'd quickly. A prime Foreman might decapitate Tyson, an old rusty Foreman might need 6-8 rounds for the KO. Cus warned Mike about Foreman.....

Prime Foreman stops Tyson within five rounds. In the timeframe mentioned in this thread, however,Tyson wins decisively on points. Too busy for George at this juncture.

Really, this fight would be over before it started. Tyson would be ****ing his pants in the dressing room thinking about fighting "that animal". Even if that didnt happen, the old man had a cast iron jaw to stand up to whatever Mike could hit him with, before George got angry and sent Mike airborne, just like he did Frazier in the 70s.

Think about this: Foreman looked for a few "easy" opponents, especially in career 2 for easy cash. Even prior to coming back in the 80s, he was chomping at the bit to fight Tyson. A small Heavyweight that charges straight in is a dream come true for George, this showcases his massive clubbing punches and hides his limited mobility. Tyson would be running straight into a Tank.

I think Tyson has the speed, combinations and firepower to chop up a slow and stationary Foreman ... in theory.
In reality, Foreman poses a real problem to Tyson's style. Tyson would be up against a huge guy who could and would be able to manhandle him and back him up. Tyson can't fight backing up.
It's an interesting match.

If Foreman catches Tyson with the right hand he caught Bobby Hitz with, it's all over.

I can imagine a focused Tyson first 4 round win by brutal ko,
or a Foreman ko success against a sleeping Mike in the 6 round.
