Well, I agree that his documented stamina issues are often overlooked.

Can you elaborate on this please ?

I've never heard that Louis knocked out Rocky's front teeth, or broke his nose.

He didn't. Marciano's nose was bloody, not broken. And all of his teeth were still there.

Love how this turned into a Tyson vs Marciano thread.

I think going by this thread Jeffries has a good chance against Marciano.

Physcially bigger than Rocky he would be able to get inside, his crouch deveops some form of defence on the inside, and Jeffries had qick hands. Could he do it?

if the rock can survive mike's onslaught in the first rounds he will win. judging from the beating he took from Walcott I think he would ko him in the late rounds i know when hurt rocky can fight back he loves that but Tyson cannot. he doesn't have the heart AT ALL. rocky is probably as powerful as mike. he would have the edge on the inside because he's one of the best pressure fighters ever. Tyson explodes at midrange and then holds on. that is when the rock would hurt mike and KO him late.

makes sense. most offensive fighters have problems when you rpessure then and force them backwards. as for a tyson vs. marciano match-up, how can you not favor tyson? he has just about every single physical advantage you can think of, power, speed , size, even height.

To be quite frank with you, I think that a few of Marciano's victims would have taken Quarry.

I also think that outside of Ali, Fraziers opponents who he actualy beat were weaker than Marciano's opposition.

I'm still wondering about this one.
From what I can gather almost all the damage in that fight was done to Louis, not Marciano.

Tyson basically pressed everyone at his best. It worked great for him. He's hardly going to start dancing around or backpedal non stop vs a Marciano. He could potentially get Marciano out of there early.

Was rewatching the Marciano Layne fight, and Layne follow Tyson's plan to a tee, the problem with the plan was Marciano was still landed thsos heavy blows even when Layne took Marciano's "punching Room" away.

By the 3rd round, Rocky's body punching and head shots started to wear the powerful Rex Layne down, and in the 6th one shot ended the fight.

Tyson does have the power to take Marciano out of there, but if he goes in trying to take Marciano's punching room, and backing him up, Tyson himself would feel the Rock's blows in the cliches.

If it is put on the inside, then certainly that favours Marciano.

What you are saying is worth considering. Tyson was a better athlete, had much faster hands and had pinpoint accuracy with his combinations. Although Tyson was faster on his feet and could bob/weave and slip punches, I think Marciano had better defensive skills and could be difficult to time due to his awkward crouching stance. Marciano seemed to be very efficient defensively, had great stamina and could throw power punches from different angles all night long. Tyson had great trunk and head movement as he was trying to close the distance, but he slowed down during the course of a fight. Tyson's issues with stamina could make the difference in the fight. If Marciano could frustrate Tyson and drag the fight into the later rounds, it might give him the opportunity to catch him or outwork him for a decision victory. As far as Marciano is concerned, Tyson's speed and clean combinations could be the difference in the fight as well. If he could back Marciano up and beat him to the punch, Tyson could catch him walking in or finish him on the ropes. Very interesting matchup!
