I might get joked on for this, but I want some more views, ratings and comments on my vids. I have been boxing for 8 months and a group of people got together and box... every once in a while. ESB have a lot of knowledable people so I like to hear some of the Pros and Cons of my sparring clip. Also suscribe to my account to see some cool clips!

Ok
1. Quit trying to look cool and keep your hands up. When you jab your right hand is down at your waist. Then you try to do this shoulder roll crap and you came up and backhanded the guy, what the hell is that? 2. Don't block a jab with your elbow. 3. Work on throwing a jab and following it up with a straight right. You jab once then throw a bunch of wide hooks from the waist. None of which land and your face is wide open. (as illustrated here) All your opponent would have to do is throw a 1-2 and you'd be out. http://s88.photobucket.com/albums/k1...Picture1-1.jpg http://s88.photobucket.com/albums/k1...Picture1-1.jpghttp://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k1...Picture1-1.jpg So, stop trying to show off and beat someone up and focus on doing it correctly, you'll get a lot farther that way. |

The biggest thing I'd say is to make sure you keep your hands up the whole time, not every once in a while. Don't bother being fancy, you'll get KTFO. It looks like your arm punching sometimes too, especially when you throw combos.
Your friend seems like a wussy.... he also needs to quit switch hitting and just pick one. |

Please listen to me when I say this. Keep your hands on your face at all times!!!
And I mean glued to your face, throw your punches from your face to your target then bring them back to your face as fast as you through them. If you keep dropping your hands like that you will develop real bad habits that will be extremely hard to break later when you become more advanced and it will bite you in the ass against good fighters. Even when you have your hands near your face in the video, you have them hovering 3-4 inches away from your cheeks, so when you get punched you just going to be punching yourself in the face. Also when you go to paw or parry punches, don't try and meet his hands, wait until the punch reaches you then turn your hand and slap the punch to misdirect it. If you continue to try reaching out for punches and you spar against someone with experience, he will just simple feint the jab and when you reach out to slap it he'll nail you with a counter to your exposed face. I read you only been boxing for 8 months so this isn't something you should be doing that much. From my honest opinion as a trainer, it looks like you have been boxing for maybe 2-3 months at most and I know that might have to do with the fact your sparring against someone less experianced (not by much), so your lessing some of your technqiue in order to "look good", but in reality your make your self look worse. As for your punches, they look fine. But you seem to look away (aka. turn your face) sometimes when you throw punches and when your getting hit. Never take you eye off your opponent, even when your getting hit in the face. Only thing I will say looks good is your footwork. Your moving and punching looks nice too. So basically you need ALOT of work on defense. Next time you see your coach tell him you want to work on it more, I'm surprised he didn't notice himself. p.s. Why you just using TKO bag gloves to spar with? lol |
