Hi All - just wanted to share an email I received off a mate of mine who does a lot of work with Rob McCracken, helping to support Amateur boxing. Nothing outrageous but a nice little insight from a reliable source.
"I was with Froch yesterday and he looks in great nick. Kessler is a great fighter and it will be difficult in Denmark, but Carl and Rob think he is getting on a bit - may just be about to go over the hill. They reckon he will start to tire in the second half of the fight once he sees that Froch can hang around for all 12. I am not telling you what to put your money on but a stoppage in the later rounds seems to be the way they see it going." |

Certainly on the cards. This fight could go any number of ways though. I wouldn't rule out any outcome. Either has the power to stop the other, either could find ways to win a decision though its obviously tougher for Carl away from home. Even a draw

I'm confident I could pick the right outcome if given 5 chances. Late stoppage Froch, late stoppage Kessler, points Froch, points Kessler, draw.

My point was this: in this fight I give all 4 outcomes an even enough chance, whereas many fights its easy to rule out the near impossibles.
However obviously I will make a concrete pick on fight week Just wait for it old man, I'm usually almost always correct. |

Its pretty interesting looking at the odds for this fight. Kessler was a very strong favorite, but the closer we are getting to the fight, the closer the odds are getting to evens. I think Kessler will start better than Froch, but Froch's pressure will get to Kessler as the fight progresses leading to him losing confidence and going into his shell. Eventual result will be either a pretty wide UD as Froch sweeps the later rounds or potentially even a corner stoppage from Kessler's team.
Regardless, its a fight Im very much looking forward to watching. |
