Default Champion Fighters with Humility

Now ever since the Louieville Lip burst onto the scene all those years ago, just about every champion fighter since seems to think it is expected that they enagage in trash talk and self promotion which in my opinion only does harm to the greatest sport in the world.
As there are still a few strong slient types still fighting out there who prefer to just do their talking in the ring, I'd like to hear a few opions as to which fighters past and present people think have or had humilty.
The first one that comes to my mind is Kosta Tszyu. He really gave the sport class for the way he acted in and out of the ring. Maybe if he spoke better english at the time he may have joined in the trash talk but I like to think he was far better than that.

The vast majority of Australian fighters/champions have been less than vocal.

A few exceptions of course, but as a group, Aussies are nothing like the Yanks.

I'd struggle to name 20 that'd be 'big mouthed'... Struggle to think of 10.

You're right Flamingo, most Aussie Champs don't get into it, it's pretty much an American thing. We've had a couple of Aussie Champs in recent years that talk themselves up but they are the exception not the rule.

Yeah, generally speaking Aussies have been less inclined to this crap, and our fans less inclined to entertain it.

Some sections of the USA, eg Texas, have always made Aussies cringe with their brashness. In more recent times it's virtually become a US standard regardless of where they actually come from.

The thing with Ali was he could back the talk with results. At first his talk earned him notoriety, but as his achievements grew, people accepted him for how he was - loudmouth and all.

Most of what we see and hear now is just contrived, copycat bullshit, and almost invariably the performance doesn't live up to the hot air. So many fighters have tried to mimmick Ali and very few should have bothered!

It's always great when a trash talking lair like Judah gets cleaned up by someone more inclined to leave his fists to do the talking, like Kostya.

Danny Geale is humilty through and through I cant imagine any amount of success changing that. From what I observed Joe Calzaghe was always fairly humble, I know he got into it with B-Hop but when in rome.

Wlad Klitschko is a class act. A true gentleman. I hope he destroys David Haye.

Kostya Tszyu.Jermaine Taylor seems humble especially after falling 20 seconds short of being the WBC SMW champion of the world.very gracious in defeat.humble is a bit boring people like trash talking in the lead up to fights.

To a degree yeah SM.

It's just the f-wits who stuff around like f-ing pea****s and believe their own bullshit. They just wear a bit thin.

The tongue in check stuff, or the stuff designed to get a phych advantage, yeah sure.

Not many bouts are won with mouths. Though Tyson in particular sure spooked a few.

Kostya is my pick, even in his losses to Phillips and Hatton he never made excuses even though behind the scenes there was a few factors that weren't in his favour, and him accompanying Sharmba Mitchell out of the ring after he destroed him in the 2nd fight and the shit Sharmba talked was pure class.

Cotto.. Even after all the shit he has gone through I've never heard him complain or winge about anything. Seems to be quite respectable
