Benitez was a superior fighter, but I'd grudgingly say Mayweather must rank higher. He has a clear edge on longevity and achievements. I'm not a fan of either guy's resume.

Benitez had more skill, fought in a tougher era, and was a credit to the sport....Floyd represents everything that's bad about the sport, except for his exceptional skills inside the ring........to make my point, Benitez fought Cervantes, Leonard, Hearns, Duran, Palomino, etc...... Floyd would NEVER have fought ANY of them. Case closed.

Thanks, I respect your guy's posts, so to contribute here is pretty cool......and regarding Mayweather vs the same opposition...he would've ducked out of Cervantes and Palomino by saying like "who have they fought?" and something along the lines of he can't make any money fighting them.....he would've NEVER in a million years fought Duran, Hearns, or Leonard. Much less a peak Leonard, and a nearly peak Hearns and Duran. The only fighter I can imagine Mayweather fighting that Benitez fought was Maurice Hope with much the same result.

I don't see how Floyd got a clear edge in achievements

I believe Benitez has the clear edge there.
