Yeah, you can say you think it's a pick 'em 50/50 fight if you wish, but i'd like to know if you give a slight edge to either at least.

I don't think the Lyle fight is a good benchmark, I thought Foreman was really woeful in that fight. |

If anything, the Lyle fight shows Foreman's heart to come back after taking a beating.
Lyle and Lewis are different fighters, Lewis is a mover, but Lyle is a rough strong hitting inside fighter with heart. But I just think that once Foreman has Lewis hurt, Lewis is gonna go down. Of course Lewis will have the edge on the cards before this will happen. |

I think Lewis was a more competent inside fighter than he is given credit for.
Granted, he wasn't as good as someone like Bowe in close, but useless inside fighters don't possess such a mean uppercut as Lennox had. I just think Foreman would find himself being hit too often, become reckless and taken out around the midway point. As daft as it sounds, I'd give the slower, smarter, crafty old Foreman a better chance at upsetting Lewis. |

It all depends on Lewis, basically. The prime Foreman only had one basic strategy. To corner, browbeat and ko ! He employed this strategy extremely well. Lennox would have to forget about a fast start, otherwise he'd more than likely get knocked out himself, and early. Lewis would have to box cautiously and defensively and endeavour to get to the fight's latter stages. Hopefully Foreman would be tiring, then Lewis could start opening up with his own power punches. Lennox would only win with this gameplan.

Lewis could well knock Foreman out early here. Lewis is much faster, better technically, straighter sharper shooter and Foreman is very easy to hit. Remember him quickly destroying Rudduck, Golota, Grant, this could happen here to. Although Lewis may well box cautiously at first, it often depends on his mood
Foreman ofcourse has a punchers chance, although Foremans power is a little overrated imo and Lennoxs defense is very good and his chin while maybe not the greatest, is underrated. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IIRShCBKwng[/ame] |

The jab and right had for Lennox is the key here imo. The fact he's taller with the straighter shots makes him a bad matchup for George, imo.
I'd like him by KO i about 5, 6. |

I think the big difference between the two is Lewis had multiple ways to win and Foreman has only one. A focused Lewis would know this and would make sure he wasn't caught with something early.
I think Lewis would start out making sure he had Foreman's respect with either the jab or some overhand rights and then he would try boxing from range for 5-6 rounds and then turn the power meter up when Foreman's punches started to loose their sting as he tired. Foreman would likely spend most of the fight chasing Lewis around, but not doing enough when he caught him. |

We do this every couple months it seems. Lewis is among the most overrated heavies on this forum, and Foreman among the most underrated.
Somehow the Ali fight proves that Foreman will automatically self-destruct anytime anyone gets him past like the fourth round. Somehow the Lyle fight proves that anyone could easily KO Foreman, even though George won that match. But Lennox being crushingly knocked out by bums twice doesn't mean anything. Blah blah blah. John L. Sullivan by KO. |
