Default Would a ref protect Floyd more than other Hatton opponents?

Against Floyd I can see Hatton getting called up on some of his rougher tactics more.
Anyone agree?

dont think that it will matter, I think that Hatton will have trouble getting close enough to imploy his one punch and grab attack.

The ref will be more focused on protecting Hatton, as PBF systematically brutalizes him.

I think Mayweather will get caught up at times and both will be clinching quite alot.
This fight isn't going to be pretty.
People at the end will either be moaning about Hatton being deducted points or people moaning that he wasn't deducted points for rough tactics.

Agreed.

One punch at a time and then clinch isn't going to work on Floyd.

No, but chopping him down to the body early could pay huge dividends for Ricky later if he can take the punches it'll take to land them- which, unless he gets cut badly, I think he can.

That fight's no walk-through for either fighter.

that's really not a very accurate description of Hatton's style.

Floyd doesn't clinch. I have never seen him clinch in a fight. He defends up close, hits you with his shoulders, and turns you. His defense is that good, he is always in a position to punch in close.

I'd bet more money that Floyd insists on Jay Nady than I would that either fighter wins the fight.

Of course he would be able to take the punches to land them. DLH could TAKE the punches. Baldomir could TAKE the punches. It's not a matter of Hatton being able to take Floyd's shots, it's about Floyd's superior speed and footwork.

Floyd isn't going to trade one for one, for every punch he lands Hatton gets a freebie. It's going to take a lot more than being able to "take a punch to land one". He's going to have to find Floyd which will be much harder.

if they stop hatton from clinching, they should stop floyd from running..both good at throwing a couple of punches then clinches/runs...the ref will dictate who wins this
