Rewatch round 11, mate. Kessler is the only fighter in it for the 1st minute of the round, and after that it was pretty even with Froch landing probably the most eye-catching shot but being slightly outlanded. You score rounds based on the whole 3 minutes, not one punch or the final 30 seconds. For me Kessler took that round primarily because it took Froch s minute to actually land anything, and even then he didn't then dominate the remaining 2 minutes. When you don't land for one third of the round you need to do more than just match your opponent and land one flashy shot in the remainder of the round.

I think a lot of people thought it about even around that point, I did (though with it being in Denmark, I was doubting that it would be) and the betting exchange strongly favoured Froch too at that point, so there were a lot of people thinking with their money that Froch was at least level midway and at a guess expecting him to come on strong later on, as he has in his other fights. Think the BBC guys, Woodhall, Castello, had it 3 each or about even too at midway. Kessler then came on a bit stronger after that and that's where he won the fight, imo. |

just watched it again there, Froch nailed him twice with big shots in that round, matched him for workrate and connected with better combos...Kessler did catch him with 1 decent big punch though, but I stand by my estimation that Froch won that round..
not that it really matters cos the better fighter won on the night [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZtoY-xzi1A4[/ame] Turn the sound down |

For what it's worth i had Kessler winning 116-112 and am quite stunned to see that there is any controversy about the decision. |

I had it a draw going into the last round gettin over excited i found it hard to score the last round tbh but i would not dispute a close decision to Kessler not unfair to say that he won it by 2-3 rounds. They are very evenly matched imo and im sure if they fought 10 times the outcome would be different each time no more than 6-4 in one fighters favour good fight.

I just re-watched it. I still have Kessler a winner. I gave him 6 rounds, Froch 4 and 2 even. I could seen a one round margin for Kessler too.
At best, Froch gets a draw, but I felt Kessler was consistent round to round. Froch would do three attacks per round, but Kessler was steady. |
