Haye on Enzo

Nowt spectacular, dunno if it's already been posted but nice touch from Haye I think

HEAVYWEIGHT king David Haye has given Enzo Maccarinelli a major boost ahead of his EBU title fight tonight, insisting: "You can become a world champion again."
The Hayemaker almost put the lights out on Maccarinelli's career following his spectacular second-round stoppage win in the Battle of Britain in London just over two years ago.
That defeat triggered a major downward spiral in Maccarinelli's career, with two further knockout defeats following to Ola Afolabi and Denis Lebedev.
Haye's career, meanwhile, rocketed as he made the successful step up to the heavyweight division — with a points win over man mountain Nikolay Valuev earning him the WBA belt.
Tonight, Maccarinelli faces Alexander Kotlobay for the vacant EBU cruiserweight title in the Russian's home town of St Petersburg.

It is a fight that will go a long way to deciding whether Maccarinelli will put himself back into the frame for a world title shot.
And Haye, the man that stripped him of his belt, has backed Maccarinelli to return to the top table of cruiserweights.
"I hope Enzo wins tonight because he deserves it," said Haye, who received a good luck message from Maccarinelli prior to his victory over John Ruiz earlier this month.
"He is a good pro and winning the European title would put him right back into the mix among the world contenders.
"He has the talent to become a world champion again, no doubt about it."

the cynic in me is thinking Haye hope Macca wins so that his own legacy looks better but i doubt it most boxers have a mutual respect for each other

I think there is a genuine respect there between Haye and Enzo, there was a great video of them in the locker room after they fought having a bit of banter, was great to see.

I remember seeing that video, it was really odd seeing them sat next to each other have a laugh and a chat.

Credit to Haye for this, and for Enzo sending a good luck message before as well.
