I'm a big fan of swarmers with the bob and weave/pee-a-boo defense therefore I tend to like:
Mike Tyson Tommy Morrison Floyd Patterson Jose Torres Joe Frazier Jack Dempsey Rocky Marciano Is there a style that gravitates you towards liking certain fighter? |

I love boxers that employ the "hit and not be hit" technique. Some people call that boring, but I love it. Some call these boxers "runners" but I don't see it.

Ive always liked boxers who keep their jab in your face like Holmes, Ali, Sweet Pea etc. But Ive also always liked hard hitting sluggers like Marciano, Shavers, and Foreman (prime).

Southpaw, Headmovement, Handspeed, or Infighters. Will and Heart, not a style but it had to be thrown in there.. Also, hardwork in the gym..(I.E. Marvin Hagler) Dedication.. Thats about it, but of course there are others i like, but if someone has a few of these its instant for me to like them usually..
My top 5 favorites.. Sugar Shane Mosley Pernell Whitaker Marvin Hagler Mike Tyson Joe Frazier Only 2 Southpaws there, but it usually helps me go towards a fighter, just only 2 in my top 5.. Also, im pretty sure Iron Mike was converted |

Gotta love punchers obviously. There are a lot of exciting boxers too as long as they're boxer-punchers and not runners..
As long as the styles make an exciting or interesting fight I'm down. I hate watching fighters who hit, hold, repeat. It might be an effective strategy, but it's boring. |

Ive never been a massive fan of come forward aggressors. Tyson, Trinidad, Frazier, Tszyu, Marciano, etc.
However, Duran is an exception. His pressure was educated and intelligent, and his defense was rather exceptional as his career progressed, towards the late 70's and beyond. Pretty versatile in many ways, and his strategy/style against Hagler wasn't the type we come to associate with him when he first comes to mind. Hearns, De La Hoya, Whitaker, Curry, Lewis, Marquez, Robinson, Holmes, Sanchez, Hopkins, Hagler, etc. Those are the styles I'm more inclined to having a taste for. I basically like boxers over brawlers, and like fighters who are pretty adaptable. |

I like every kind of fighter, a pure boxer-mover like Whitaker can be better to watch than a simple, one-dimensional puncher, boxer-punchers like Duran are anyhow great to watch, exactly like a brawler like Frazier...

Dont get me wrong I appreciate all styles.
Swarmers to me are obviously my favorite. But watching Larry Holmes or Muhammad Ali pick apart Cooney and Folley makes me smile at thier ability. Or watching Mayweather dismantle Arturo Gatti or Diego Corrales (RIP) is just talent. I generally like swarmers and punchers will always draw my attention but slick boxers are just so interesting to watch especially when they are on top of thier game. Truthfully there are two fighters in history that at thier best I am in absolute awe of when they perform at their best. Joe Louis and Mike Tyson. Oddly enough Louis is not a swarmer but he's the exception. |

as long as the fighters are busy and punch hard enough to do damage I'm happy. the only style I hate is guys who jab and backpedal like no tomorrow. cory spinks, floyd in certain fights, I hate that stuff.
