I think shane was afraid to throw cos he was always being countered, when he had floyd stunned, floyd raised his elbows, maybe shane was concious of breakin his hand off floyd's elbow,

It was a masterclass by Mayweather to say the least

Floyd was ****ed with that second flush right. Shane could have put him away - there was no counter coming back.

Shane just couldn't pull the trigger.

Sorry, but this thread is disrespectful to both fighters. Floyd stood in there and traded and Shane gutted it out in the face of adversity and showed what a true warrior he is. Floyd shone on Saturday night because when Shane hurt him he was already fighting back before he'd fully recovered. He broke Shane's heart right there and then proceeded with the systematic breakdown as he does with any fighter. Brother Naazim said it; the key is how he adapts. Look how he fought Hatton yet boxed Marquez. He beats you at your own game and breaks your heart. And as an aside I don't see a way in the world that Pac beats Floyd. Really I don't. Floyd will be aggressive and quick, but with his usual elusiveness. I really do believe he'll make Pac look kinda foolish before stopping him. Quote me! PBF KO Pac

He made the wrong decision in the moment. If a guy is hurt and you head hunt, you can miss. The body doesn't move. A tthe same time if he goes to the body but then comes up for the bingo punch he can ko him. There is no right or wrong. There is only the right decision in the moment. Mosley failed to execute. Simple as.

He did however get too tense and gas after 2 rounds. Mosley can box but he can not hand 12 rounds of a nip tuck every second. I said that to my mate immediately. Mosley does not want to rely on skills, timing, distance, smarts. He wants to be faster, stronger and more powerful. Mentally he gassed and then I think physically he went too.

I agree waste of time. After the 4th round I just fwd the sky+ Shane looked afraid to throw anything expecting to be countered. Did he not train for FM's speed and counters?

Shane Mosley had Floyd Mayweather hurt..!

He should of just kept, smacking Floyd Mayweather to the head.

Shane Mosley just totally wasted his punches, and his big chance..!!!!!

Mike Tyson or any other great finisher...would of not wasted this chance..!

Shane Mosley was a disappointment in that 2nd round.

Maybe it was th 16 months of inactivity.

But i really don't give a shit, it's like a top striker. People exspect Fernando Torres, to do the job infront of goal..with a half decent opportunity.

Shane Mosley had a better than, half decent opportunity.

He should of done allot better.

Not as disappointing as this thread.

That wasn't Mosley in there though. He threw single shots, held on for dear life when they were up close and had very poor timing. It was probably a mixture of age and ring rust.

That being said Mayweather looked the best I've ever seen him at welterweight. You've got to give him his dues, nobody thought it would be Floyd doing the bullying that night!

He was shot. If not shot, then way past his best.

Apparently if you say this you're just a 'Floyd hater'.

The Margarito win was good, but stylistically suited Shane.

He struggled with Mayorga previously, and was outmanouvered by Cotto. Apparently though, Floyd is now a top 20 ATG based off this win

Mosley had aslo never fought in almost a year and a half since Margarito and he struggles after long layoffs.... look at ahow he was when he fought Cotto and Mayorga. He turned up on those nights pretty much how he did against Mayweather but the difference is that Mayweather is alot better than Cotto and Mayorga and exposed Mosleys flaws on the night.

Yes it was a disappointing performance from Mosley.

I thought he was going to let his hands go much more - he was ****ed after only the
second round - blowing like he was a chain smoker or something.

Yes - you got to give Floyd his dues - but this ATG stuff is well over the top - I still fancy Manny Pac to beat the cunt.

I think the Margarito victory was put into a bit more context really when you looks back.

As Flea said stylistically it suited Shane a lot more then most fighters.

Margo and the Glove issues must of affected him knowing he didn't have his tools with him.

People forget the fight was made very close to the fight. I think it was made in early December and fought in late January. Because both guys couldn't get opponents. Margo was living the high life after the Cotto fight and had to drain off a lot of weight in 6 weeks and was struggling.

Shane i think was affected by many factors on Saturday and let's have it right...Floyd couldn't have fought him at a better stage really. But Floyd did a job on him and showed he has the heart to fight back which a lot of people said he didn't have.

Shane just couldn't carry out Naazim's plan and i think he got anxious and hesitant and all that nervous energy drained him...just like when your a amateur fighting for the first time...it's probably the longest fight of your life because it's so nerve racking.

Yep, Shane just couldn't pull the trigger.

Oscar looked pretty good in comparison in his fight with Floyd. I had that for Floyd 115-113.
