Default Pipino Cuevas vs Hedgemon Lewis

Cuevas the huge banger vs the stylish lewis who was unlucky to fight at the same time as the great napoles.

so who takes it?? can lewis class hold off cuevas power??

In his prime. Cuevas walked through boxers with the simular style of Lewis, Clyde Gray, Angel Espada, Harold Weston Jr. If Lewis could not hurt him. Cuevas would throw caution to the wind & start unloading bombs. one would eventually land. Lewis could be a cut above these fighters & outbox Cuevas to take a 15 round decision. Andy Price did it, but Cuevas was only eighteen years old. & notice Price wasn't interested in a rematch.

Cuevas broke jaws....and Sugar Ray had a chance to fight him....but took on Thomas Hearns instead after Hearns took away Pipino's crown.

The Big 4 welterweights of that period should have also included the prime Cuevas because he was doing a lot of defending his crown in spectacular fashion.

Lewis was alright a solid contender, but nothing special, that said he had a sturdy chin and Cuevas was a little bit inconsistant.

If a 71 Lewis met a 77 Cuevas it would be a pick-em IMO.
