if your near Upton Park, avoid most places around there, I lived in Plaistow for a while, and the pubs are very much "locals" pubs, Your 20 mins from civilisation though, Id jump on the District Line and get off at either Tower Hill and head for a little place called the Minories under a railway bridge, or Monument station and the Brittania pub, the Cape by Mansion House, all these pubs Ive mentioned are pubs with club hours, always a few decent tit bars in Shoreditch, try this link [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

Yeah, Old Street is normally pretty good on a Saturday night - lots of pubs and a couple of clubs

I'd make my way to Shoreditch as well, only a cheap cab back to your hotel at the end of the night though there are place open until the tube starts up again. Quite a few strip clubs if i remember right/if thats what you are after.
