Default Is there anything worse in boxing...

Than watching your favourite fighter getting beat and looking completely helpless? That was ****ing horrible viewing.
Share your stories of that horrible, gutted feeling in here. I'm hoping to make the most depressing thread in ESB history, gotta find something positive out of it, right?

I saw a local fighter get schooled last night. Horrible to see but you gotta take the good with the bad.

Witter Vs Alexander was hard to watch, I re-watched it on ESPN the next week and it was even worse. Had never seen Witter telegraph his punches as bad as that. At least in the Bradley fight he was active.

What I hate, is I was at the Schoolboy British championships on Saturdy and seeing the two young lads giving everything into the fight, and the judges mucking up the scoring and one of the kids is inconsolable and rightly so.

JMM V PBF. I will probably never watch that fight again as it was heartbreaking to see JMM be so uncompetitve; he was basically just bullied.

To be honest I can't really say that a live fight has really depressed me too much yet as a hardcore boxing fan.

But the main fight in retrospect as I worked my way through some fights to broaden my knowledge of the sport which left me feeling gutted was Pacquiao-Morales 3, it was absolutely heartbreaking to watch one of the great warriors of his era to suddenly realise he couldn't live with Pacquiao and decide that the best option was to quit.

Floyd Mayweather took it easy on JMM.

He could of beat him with one hand, and two punches.

The Jab, and the left hook.

There's absolutely nothing worse. I hated seeing Paulie look so flat footed, sluggish & immobile. Painful viewing & it still hurts a lot

it wasn't that bad mate paulie gave an ironman performance
and earned serious respect for his concreate chin
it was still a moral victory
he stood his ground and traded with amir and everytime he got
wobbled he fired straight back like a warrior

Margarito-Cotto was kinda hard to take. I was so confident Miguel would outclass him (which he did for the first 6 rounds).

Cotto-Pac didn't upset me much. I was more in awe of Pac than anything else.

As a wee lad Tyson v Bruno 1 almost broke my heart.
As a grown man I became a huge Cotto fan. Watched all his fights as he emerged as one of the best. The wild nights against Torres, Malignaggi and Judah. The unexpected boxer in the Mosley fight.
Then along came Margarito and done him over. I couldn'tve been more gutted. Genuinely took me a bit of time to get over that defeat. I find it hard to watch now.
I would love to see a rematch at the Azteca or something and Cotto do a job on him. Which I still think he can.

I'm off for a whisky
