Default ~~~The Lightning Lucian Bute Battleship~~~

Lucian Bute is great! He is currently the third best Super Middle Weight and gaining on the top two. After Bute beats Berrio and takes a significant defence, everyone should rate Bute in the Top 3.

Bute is still learning; he is still about two years away from his physical peak...and a good couple of years from his mental, technical and strategy-implementation peak.

Lucian Bute is not overrated on this site. However, many of his fans realise that his potential is yet unfulfilled and are pleased with his rate of progress so far, so they speak highly of him. They are also confident that he would rise up to the occasion when challanged by the best.

Bute is a likeable fellow and a thoroughly nice guy! He is in good company at the top of the SMW ladder in that respect.

Lucian Bute is good for boxing. He is not overprotected and his record is not padded. Although he will have only 21 professional fights by this Friday, he will have fought some very good fighters. His rate of progress is very good. He fights better and better opponents. As his profile grows, he should be able to avoid any stay-busy fights.

Bute is a good, exciting boxer. Moreover, he is impressive as a human being. Lucian is a morally superior person. His moral qualities include his courage (he doesn't duck and he guns for the best out there), his love for truth and his self-knowledge (he doesn't overrate himself, or underrate his competition), his diligence (he works hard to improve at a good rate) and his humility and respect for others and himself.

I have much faith in Lucian Bute. I am confident he will continue to gun for the best, win or lose, continue to improve technically (esp. defensively), increase his mental strength and moral capacity, and become a great boxer by never dodging the best out there and arising from the ashes of defeat.

Let's hear it for Lucian Bute!

It's a cultural reference; don't fry your brain trying to get it!

He's also the third-best looking SMW after Joe and Kess. Coincidence, I think not!

In preparation for his fight against Berrio, Bute has been doing 2-hour long sessions to exhaustion.

His trainer, Stephane Larouche, says that he was being broken down only to be rebuilt again. "By the time he steps into the ring against Berrio, he will be explosive, like a long-range missile."

On Saturday, Bute was still 4 kg too heavy...(typical for him). He is confident of easily making weight, though.

Nice report Decebal! You're a real supporter! I've watched those few rounds vs Bika and Bute is a great boxer. Beatiful footwork, upper body movement, balance, head movement quick hands, can throw combos, solid jab. He can make some noise! Cheers!

I hope Bute wins and becomes a Champ, too, of course...but I don't care about the belts/ titles...

I just want Bute to become the best he can be and fight the best out there, win or lose, fighting a great fight! I don't think doing more would be possible; and certainly, it would be impossible to do more for boxing!

Decebal, do you think Bute could ever become supernatural?

Bute is already a superstar in Montreal. If he can get a few good wins against good opposition, he'll become one. He's very charismatic.

I don't think so. There are at least 10 more talented fighters out there, in my opinion. But Bute is good and getting better, and I think he can become a very good boxer. If he keeps going for the best and he maintains the high morale that he has shown so far, he will be very good for boxing. This is all that matters, because everything else is not really up to him - you either have it or you don't.

Probably for the best, supernatural non-american's tend to get avoided. Just look at the bullshit that Joan Guzman has had to put up with, he has to face the other guy that nobody wants to fight despite deserving a title shot...

But the other guy, Soto also deserves a title shot. Pity, both are very good and one gets knocked out of the race instead of earning a title and having a cemented spot.

Soto is not supernatural, but he's a class boxer and a warrior who's worked hard. Shame he has to fight a supernatural who's motivated.
