Yeah it was the knee with the support on it. Yuri was getting beat by a jab. His movement doesn't let him sit on punches. He had a height, reach and arguably a speed advantage and he was being out boxed. Cotto was on form though, solid jabbing, good hooks, excellet timing and he was clearly listening to his trainer.
Yuri showed alot of heart, the referee did a bang up job and it was a good fight, but I dont think it's any sign that Cotto would beat the top guys at lmw though. Him finishing Yuri off with a true blue left hook to the body is a good sign though! |

The ref knew Yuri wasn't totally written out yet and gave him every chance to bounce back. Kudos to Cotto for doing what he needed to do exactly when he needed to do it. To have the fight stopped by the ref or the corner robbed both men. Cotto of a legit win and Foreman of the chance to go down fighting |

Foreman ran and ran until his right leg went.He couldn't run and he couldn't escape the punishment. But still tried to fight with a bum leg.His corner threw the towel.Forema wanted to fight on it was allowed to continue.Cotto had the wounded Foreman out with an excellent body shot a round or so later.

yeah, when he led with the right or did something other than move, move, move, half hearted jab, move, move he was effective. But he didn't do much more than that unfortunately

Easy fight for Cotto. Surprised at how many saw this one as being competitive. |

Don't gloat. You had Cotto winning every round. Foreman won a round - the 4th on my card. So a tko after winning 8 of the 9 rounds. Marcus neads to plead insanity for his dribble at the top of this thread. The part about Foreman hits much harder than Cotto is the first piece of evidence. He hit Cotto flush on the chin twice with his right hand - it wouldn't have knocked Cotto off a chair if he was holding a beer. |

Bad luck Marcus, not far off mate. I personally thought Foreman was hustling all those other guys with his lack of power too...plus Yuri only needed 11 more rounds like the fourth and it could have been close mate
