Angulo is a poor mans Margarito without the wraps lol I would pick Cotto all day, but i'm still not convinced that Cotto is not done with all that scar tissue and those demons. That fight would be a war with Miguel outboxing him in spots, just depends on how long till Cotto goes into survival mode, but i would pick him to just make it to the line all blooded.
Vanes is not ready for Cotto. I would favor Martinez over Cotto, but he would present Cotto with a lot of oppurtunities with the way he fights. Williams has too much activity and physicality. The fight for Cotto next and the one i think they might take is Cory Spinks, He has a strap, is a big name drawing a big crowd in St Louis and won't be able to hurt Cotto. If you're not able to back Cotto up then you're gonna have problems and with Cory not being able to get his respect, Cotto would just ignore all that technical stuff and walk to him like Zab did. |

I think against Angulo,Miguel will out box him at ease at times seeing as Angulo is incredibliy crude about the way he pressures you. Train Tracks method against Miguel will not work early doors. Miguel will make him look a fool and look a master technician like he was against Margo in first 6 rounds. Then it's Miguels Stamina..it's not the best is it? but i think with Manny Steward in corner and fact Miguel now has added more layers to his skillset (clinching, full guard etc) he can make his way through some ruff patches to beat Angulo.
By the way i keep saying it...Cintron beat Angulo because Angulo was ill all week. Ok Superman boxed really well...but before Angulo stepped in ring the Commentators stated he was Ill. I like Angulo but he'd get beat and marked up by Miguel. |

Angulo wasn't right against Cintron, that wasn't the same fighter that beat up Julio recently.
I just don't see Cotto winning that fight. Sure he'll look a world beater initially but I honestly don't see how he keeps it up, he was dead on his feet against Clottey who threw 3 punches a round on average. It was the strength and size of Clottey that just took its toll, as Cotto was fading Clottey was still strong firstly because he's just a tank and secondly Cotto didn't grind him down much as he has done with inferior men and 140lb'ers. Same thing happened against Pacquiao, the fading I mean, more because he got outclassed in that fight. But then the Margo fight was really the beginning of this process, whether he had wraps or not we have to say his pressure was very effective and Cotto didn't deter him, and if the wraps took something out of Cotto and really caused this its unfortunate but something that can't be ignored in future matchups. Angulo is underrated IMO because of that loss to Cintron and would beat Cotto because he's a nightmare for him. Has Angulo even been hurt for a second? He's going to come all night and I don't think Cotto's power against big 147lber's and 154lb'ers is as great as we thought when he was trouncing Judah. |
