Default Nader vs Junior - huge grudge match aftermath

Should be plenty of interest in this one:

FIGHTING WORDS

-from Sydney Morning Herald
31st May

Forget Mundine versus Green - the fiercest rivalry in Australian boxing is between Nader Hamdan and Junior Talipeau. Their highly awaited rematch is on Wednesday in Wollongong but Hamdan couldn't wait for today's official press conference to let fly.

''He is a f---ing dog,'' Hamdan said. ''He is a prima donna and I am sick of his bulls---.

If he wants we can take it to the streets.''

Hamdan is particularly upset about his rival insulting featherweight Billy Dib in a phone call. Dib will also be fighting on the card and feature in today's presser.

Talipeau floored Hamdan in the first round of their last fight before he was accidentally headbutted, causing a cut that resulted in a technical draw. Talipeau said Hamdan could no longer live up to his nickname, Lionheart.

''In his old age his heart has started to go soft; I'm calling him Softheart instead of Lionheart.''

The way i see it all the pressure is on junior and nader has nothing to lose. If he doesnt win comfortably he should retire immediately because a loss could be a career killer.

I'll be there after managing to swap shifts a with co worker.

Really looking forward to this one. Junior should be too strong imo but I would never write off Nader. Been a great warrior for a long time.

Great card, great job by Grange.

Furious Hamdan takes another swipe at judgesJAMIE PANDARAM
June 4 2010

NADER HAMDAN says he does not deserve a suspension for his expletive-laden blast at the judges after his split-decision loss to Junior Talipeau on Wednesday night.

With the Boxing Authority of NSW set to decide on Monday whether he should be penalised for the comments, Hamdan yesterday wondered who would penalise judges for poor scoring. '

'Everyone looks at the NSW judges and referees as a joke because they don't know how to do their jobs,'' Hamdan said.

''After every fight I hear people say, 'What fight were they watching?' I don't deserve to be suspended, I just said what everyone else was thinking.''

Hamdan, who said 'F--- you' on live television to the judges, was particularly aggrieved at judge Max Murphy, who scored the close bout 78-74 in Talipeau's favour.

The consensus seems to be that more thought Hamden won than Junior..........but that's boxing.

it was close though.. I dont think you can say it was a robbery.

78-74 is a disgrace though.

The other 2 cards were fine...
