Two-time flyweight world champion Vic “Raging Bull” Darchinyan faces Federico Catubay for the vacant IBO super flyweight boxing world title on Saturday night 20th October 2007 at the Auburn RSL in Sydney, Australia.

The Darchinyan vs. Catubay main event and undercard will be televised LIVE around Australia from 7:30pm Eastern on FOX SPORTS 3.

The official weigh-in for Darchinyan vs. Catubay and undercard will be held on Friday 19th October 2007 at 7:00pm at the Auburn RSL, 33 Northumberland Road Auburn, NSW, Australia.

31 year-old Vic Darchinyan, the Armenian born 2000 Olympian and Australian citizen trained by Billy Hussein, has a professional boxing record of 28 wins, 1 loss and 22 wins by knockout. He has previously held the IBF and IBO flyweight world titles. 27 year-old Federico Catubay from Cebu City in The Philippines, has a record of 20 wins, 13 losses, 3 draws and 11 wins by knockout.

Tickets for the boxing card at the Auburn RSL are now on sale by calling 0416 285732.

does this guy actually have a heartbeat? i know nothing of him and his record doesn't give much away other than the fact that if hussy destroyed him in 3 vic should also?

In one??? Better not!!!!!! i want it to go for a few rounds and see Vix box, if he just throws the heavy right ill be disapointed he hasnt tried to get some rounds under his belt.

catubay is a tomato can. no one knows him, even in the philippines. he was sent there to lose and lose he will. so ko1 is not really far from reality as i think he'll call it a night after the first strong punch hits him.

when he has been knocked out it has been in 6 or less (on average) but he hasnt felt the power of someone like Vic so KO1 or 2 is def. permissable

i too hope, for the benefit of filipinos, that he puts up a good effort. but i have been against this fight from the start because it was a clear mismatch. i don't think catubay will be given the chance to fight for the philippine title and he has absolutely no business fighting with a former champ who is eager tio take his crown back.

i don't see anything in catubay that would be an advatage against vic. nothing.

Boxrec already have him linked to appear on the Green vs Tarver card if all goes ahead as planned, So just think we might get Green and Vic on the one card in the USA if all works out.

I just read on the esb homepage that Donaire has also been added to the card...hmm?
