I personally don't think either of those fighters would be quite as dismissive of Froch as most of the posters on these pages are. Whether I think he'd beat them though is another matter. I think he could, but fighters are often badly exposed when stepping up to the highest level. What seems apparent to me, is that if Froch fights you, he will hit you - and he hits mighty hard.

In other words...Froch is dangerous because of his punch but we'll only know how good he is when he steps it up, right?

I think there's more to it than his power, he displays excellent accuracy, has a good chin and contrary to what most people state, he's quite fast. Can you honestly say you saw that punch that knocked Tatevosyan down coming?

You are right...he is very good...he makes my Top 6-7...but he talks even better than the sixth/seventh best fighter, that's for sure. He did look impressive against Tatevosyam, but he wouldn't get be able to look so good against a better fighter who would counterpunch better, use the jab more effectively, move better in the ring and find better angles and work faster...

I'm not entirely convinced he's completely genuine in his arrogance, rather than angering me, he amuses me with his pantomime villainry. Remember Eubank was 'box office' but not because people wanted to see him win.

I am not sure...Froch is becoming a bit of a joke making these statements and fighting have-been NAMES instead...if he was fighting guys in the top 15-20...I guess he could just about get away with it...but at the moment...it's not as much annoying as laughable!

I've always taken an interst in his career, but I've begun to wonder if he is just mouth and actually has no desire to fight the elite. On the other hand, he does seem like the kind of fighter that you would want to avoid, but there doesn't seem to be any motions to get the big fights (aside from offering JC some pocket change). He said the other day that he's looking forward to set the division alight next year, so maybe with the impending clash of the top two men in the division he's actually got a plan, we'll see.

I think his plan might involve not fighting any of the top 2...and instead going against Braehmer for the vacated title. I don't think he will get away with it though...Inkin has the same plans...Unless they fight each other, which neither seems to want to risk, they will have to impress in other ways to be placed second...after Braehmer...

...or is this nonsense?

i'll be honest i can't stand froch.i hate is posturing, posing, and arrogance.he has been absolutely dreadful in some of his fights an absolute joke.however i must say i have been quite impressed the way he has despatched his last 3 opponents in tatevosyan, dodson and magee.admittedly they are not world class fighters but are not exactly tomato cans but never the less he was at least disciplined and less sloppy in there and showed good power.

It is quite possible that Froch turns out to be a better Bika. Bika can be that strong, powerful, awkward boxer with cute moves. Froch is better than that. So he could be in good fights with Calzaghe, Bute etc I think Calzaghe is always gonna be too much for him. Bute however could be put to sleep but lets see what Berrio does to him.

I think Froch and Bika are very different fighters...in a way I would love a fight between the two of them! We will see how Bute handles a real puncher tomorrow, but I have always wanted to see Bute v. Froch...if Bute wins, however, I cannot see Froch taking this one...

I think both Calzaghe and Kessler would have too much for Froch.

I think Froch should fight the very good Inkin - it is the matchup that fans have been demanding for ages! But they both seem to want to dodge each other...

Carl has alot of self belief but that self belief is now arrogance. He vastly overrates himself and really thinks his as good as he says he is. The reality is his not.His not fought anyone of any note yet other than a handful of domestic hopefuls. His fight against Reid doesnt prove much but he should be able to win a UD over an old dog like Reid providing Reid doesnt upset his applecart.

Frochs style isnt one that bodes well at a world class level. I fear he would have trouble with a guy like Manfredo who is a much better schooled boxer than he is and boasts supererior fundamentals. Froch`s defense is leaky and porous and the way he dangles that left with his chin out to dry is simply annoying. He really believes in his power and truly thinks his a world class puncher. Against Kessler or Joe he may put up a decent account for himself in brief spells but he gets left high and dry and would be way out his depth.Theres a big diffrence in fighting the best at 68 and taking on ordinary guys like Matthew Barney.
If Barney had come to win, he could beat Carl back then.

I think Froch is better then people think. He might even turn out to be good enough to beat Bute. Who knows. But what I hate is to see him bad mouth an honest and respectful guy like Bute. Bute never talk trash about anyone.

When Froch had the opportunity to fight Bute in an IBF title eliminator this summer. He turned it down.

You can't turn down a fight against a guy and then talk trash about how you'd knocked him out. That's just make you sound like a tool.
