Best amateur boxer i've seen in ahwhile

Was just browsing on Youtube and came across this video, Rau'shee ****** the guys name (the guy in blue). I dunno about you lot but judging form this video i think the guys extremely talented, his style reminds me of Shane Mosley's abit. Anyone got any info on this guy, like whats his record etc? All i know is i think he's in the USA's olympic boxing team.

You do realize record means nothing in the amateurs, right? Rau'shee hasn't lost in a few years except to Guillermo Rigondeaux, and Rigo said that was the hardest fight he had had in a long time. He was on the 2004 Olympic team at 17 and was the youngest US team member in any sport. He also pretty much breezed through the National championships and Olympic Trials this year; he RSC'd pretty much everyone. And Aaron Alafa, the guy he's fighting in that video, is a pretty good fighter; so is Qaid Muhammad, who Rau'shee RSC'd twice at the Olympic Trials.

Who knows if he will. He could have gone pro after Athens and he didn't-he was the first American Olympic boxer to stay amateur after the Olympics since like 92 I think. He could be a career amateur-he's only 21 and in his second Olympics; it's conceivable he could win 3 Gold Medals if he performs at the Olympics (and he'll obviously be facing a whole different kind of competition at the Olympics than within the US).

Because it's not rawness about Rau'shee; his style is tailored at the moment to fight under amateur rules where what matters is landing clean punches, not how hard you hit someone. I can see how he could look like Zab Judah, but he's a much more sound fighter. He's only a flyweight though, so I wouldn't make too many comparisons between them.

The amateur style has nothing to do with it, his punching and overall technique just doesn't look as refined as Zabs is now. There's every chance he'll get there in the future, but at this embryonic stage of his career he has yet to fulfill his potential.

As for his weight, I don't see what the problem is with comparing two fighters of a different weight class.

I'd hardly call going to the olympics for the second time the beginning of a boxing career. I know what you are getting at but I wouldn't diminish what he's accomplished thus far simply because he's still amateur.
