When was the last time Anderson was defeated ? vs Chonan in Pride fc right? but that was in 2004... it's been almost 4 years since that happened and nobody has been able to dominate him...

He's a got a loss against Okami but it was because of a disqualification (illegal blow)

I wanted to smack Anderson after that fight against Chonan. That shit was just about as embarassing as that baseball bouncing off of Canseco's head and going over the fence for a homerun.

You have to admit one thing though...that submission...was a work of art. One of the best in mma history.

Anderson was way too seasoned of a pro to get caught w/ a once in a century move like that from such a short fighter (not that that had snything to do with it). It looked straight out of a video game.

lol! that shit was unreal !...hardest move you can pull in mma , even harder than the gogoplata...hell , even more complicated than rumina sato's flying armbar...

flying scissor heel hooks are extremely rare...(personally chonan's FSHH was the only one i've seen working)

The only person I can see beating him clearly at this point is Henderson who doesn't seem interested in 185 anymore.

After that theres a large gap, then two people who stand a good chance: Lindland and Filho, which Filho probably wouldn't fight him, although he is no longer on the same team.

Then people with an outside chance: Trigg, Lawler, maybe Manhoef if he can keep it standing, and Alemdia is back with the UFC, he could pull it off.

Then people stepping up from 170 with a chance, GSP then Hughes, GSP with a much better shot.

Then people who I'd like to watch Anderson disembowl, Frank Shamrock and Cung Le.

Dana said last night during the post fight press conference that Henderson is "hard-headed" and isn't thinking about going down to 185 lbs although White has been urging him to do so. I guarantee it'll be a boring fight if he does come down, though.

I don't really see them pulling it off, but Ryo Chonan is coming to the UFC and it always feels good to avenge a loss, especially one by flying scissor heel hook.

Trigg, Lawler, Manhoef??? What are you, crazy? Trigg does his best work w/ his mouth and I believe Lawler is trying to build his pedigree up in another organization. Manhoef? Nah, just don't see it.

I like GSP on pure talent alone to make an interesting bout of it but I would favor Silva. Hughes is way to compact to not recieve a thorough ass-thrashing.

LOL. Funny how everybody hates Cung Le. Cung Le's standup is serious. Cung Le's ground game is, how should I say this, not so serious. Cung Le would definitely get ****ed up under the rules of MMA . . . now San Shou, on the other hand??? And is Frank Shamrock even considered a live body anymore at this point, I mean he could whoop my ass but it'll take him to the 3rd via submission.

Trigg Lawler and Manhoef are all outside chances as in fairly longshots, not favorites.

Trigg has improved alot, Lawler has the power to KO him, and the wrestling to take him down and the gnp to KO him on the ground, but would probably get sniped out on the feet, Manhoef is a better and more powerful kickboxer, but has no ground game at all and Silva has no qualms about taking a guy down and pounding him out. Silva probably wins all those matchups, but they all have a live shot.

GSP and Hughes would both need to do the same thing, take him down and grind out a late stoppage or decision. GSP is better on the feet than Hughes, which would lead to a quicker takedown, but Hughes has the more technical takedowns and better slams to inflict damage, and I think better grappling skills to do damage and stay out of subs, Hughes also has no problems fighting 5 rounds.

But again, the only one I would pick outright, even odds, to beat Silva is Henderson.

I hate that people bring up that flying leg scissor as anything more than a Hail Mary that a fighter who was losing a lop sided fight RESORTED TO b/c he had no other options. 9 times out of 10, Silva wipes the mat w/ Chonan & 8 of those 10 end w/ Chonan in a bloody heap on the floor.
