Because professional boxing is still a business of scumbags, that's why people like King and Öner can make it to the top.

He didn't seem arrogant towards myself, in contrast I had a good chat with him...he's very open-minded and tells you things how they appear and don't hem and haw like SE or Universum...

Öner might be an asshole as regards personality. But he created the 3rd biggest promotion in Germany which is one of the leading markets of boxing in the world today. He has some tough fighters and a some of the hottest prospects in the sport. He has good tv coverage and makes some fairly decent cards. Pretty impressive if you consider that he did it basically in what... 2 years maybe.

Once I watched him try to enter the restricted area around the ring for the vips.I am not really sure anymore but I think that incident happened in Berlin,at one of Ottke's title defences.
Well,he tried to enter that area,but one of the security guards demanded his allowance/ticket.Oener got angry and almost started a fight because that security guard wasnt able to recognize him at first sight.He probably thought that he was such an important person ,such a big shot that everyone must know his face and behave like a servant in presence of a mighty king.
On another occasion I saw him waving off a fight fan as if that guy had been a very molesting fly!
He tells you things how they appear?

I dont like personally Oner but the true is that he doing good job . For example the last his evening was one of the best this year. Nine fights was and every fight was more interesting then others.

Who really cares about a "manager of the year award"? May be Oener coz thats some publicity for his stable. I think its quite possible that he bribed some people to receive this award. Anyway, Kohl and Sauerland are established and are making their cut. An award is so important for them like a fly on a turd. BTW, I think the fight I saw with Herbie Hide against a east european no-hoper should have gotten the award for the "mismatch of the year".

I dont like Oener as a person. He is the typical turkish prolet (sorry, I dont know a good english expression for that). Now his little tv appearence and the money he got from his investors got a bit into his head, acting like a nouveau riche who thinks he is as important as the president of the US.

But he brought Gamboa to professional boxing and Germany. For that I have he give him some credit.
