The Lads mate his weight is never the same in his last fight he was 140 LW previous fight to that was 147 WW and has fought has high as 154 LM against Karl Taylor. So I am not sure if he has decided what weight to fight at yet, but I believe from watching him fight he had his best two victories over Bradley Pryce & [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]at 147 and above. Just my opinion tho thanks for saying hi.

He's decided to fight at 140, he fought at 147 and 154 because no bugger would fight him at 140. He's ranked in the top 15 by the WBC at 140. Will he weigh 140lbs tonight, I doubt it, as its a nothing fight, unless its a title fight fighters are often a few lbs over their weight.
I reckon he'll be around 145-147. His intention is though to fight at light welterweight. Ali took the fight at 4 days notice against Ajose, and put up a spirited performance, alas Ajose had too much for ALi that night. WBC LWW rankings 1 .- Timothy Bradley (US) 2 .- Herman Ngoudjo (Canada) 3 .- Marcos Maidana (Argentina) 4 .- Jose Luis Castillo (Mexico) 5 .- Juan Lazcano (US) 6 .- Jungbum Kim (Korea) OPBF 7 .- Demetrius Hopkins (US) 8 .- Norio Kimura (Japan) 9 .- Ajose Olusegun (Nigeria) 10 .- Lovemore N'Dou (South Africa) 11 .- Vivian Harris (US) 12 .- Francisco Figueroa (US) NABF 13 .- Cesar Cuenca (Argentina) 14 .- Gianluca Branco (Italy) 15 .- Samuel Malinga (South Africa) |

The Lads I agree with your points I was just saying I think he looks better at WW. In his last 8 or 9 fights he has fought I beleive only once at 140 for the commonwealth title against Gary Reid. This just shows you how shite the ranking systems are and why I take no notice of them anymore if by beating Gary Reid in your only fight at 140 in 3-4 years gets you in the top 10 well what can I say. Best Regards Craig

if olusegun wins a world title, do we get to make him honoury british??
i really do hope this is the last domestic level fight jamie moore has because he deserves so much more. the average manc doesn't have a clue who he is! say what you want about hennessey, but he seems to build up local followings better than maloney does (e.g. carl froch) fighting facey is never easy though, and moore will have to work hard to secure a comfortable but competitive UD. |

Rooq I think Jamie wins inside 6 tonight and hopefully on to beat EBU champ Zaurbek Baysangurov which will be no easy fight as the man can punch and has been 12 rounds with huge punching Marco Antonio Rubio. But all the best to one of the most entertaining boxers in the UK at the present time.

In the Manchester Evening News it was reported that if Moore wins both these fights, he'll hopefully shoot up the WBC rankings and maloney will then be looking to get the world title shot. i don't know how he'd do against someone as skillful as forrest but it'd be good for him to get the shot! |

As an example Mark Thompson, for his last fight, weighed 159lbs, infact Mark has never weighed 147lbs... and yet he was going to fight Kevin Mcintyre in a welterweight eliminator for the british title. Tonight he fights for a CA title, Im sure he'll be bang on 147. Presumably Ajose is defending his commonwealth title tongiht (as the opponent is canadian) so he'll be 140 again. |

good fight.
tougher than moore thought it was goin to be i think, he faced a different facey from the last time..... but as moore said himself he (moore) was very rusty........ and we should see him back on form in his next fight. good shots to force the stoppage.

It was a good fight, but Moore is no world beater. For years now we've been hearing how he plans to move up in class, but everytime I ever see him he never looks that special. Last edited by Dr Z; 08-17-2006 at 07:38 AM. |

Got to agree regarding Jamie Moore's pedigree, he's all heart and soul and a real streetfighter type of scrapper, but as for boxing at the very top level I'd think he'd be found out. At that level you need a lot more ability to go with that fighters heart, i don't see that in the lad.
