Quote Dberry;
How can you disagree when Ned Kelly is a national hero? Geez, talk about wide comparisons. The difference here is instigation as opposed to retaliation. Australia was a lot different when father Red & son Ned did & was a lot more complicated, & they weren't the only ones suffering endemic police corruption & discrimination. Totally different situation. Dunno what Nathan done so I'll leave it at that. |

Dberry,
If you take something like this lightly then you're a f****n moron. My sister had a gun pointed at her in an armed rob 15 years ago and to this day she has trouble dealing with certain things. If this is true then Briggs can rot for all I care. |

I'm sorry to hear that your sister is still having troubles from an obviously traumatic experience. Most people go through life having faced equally or more traumatic experiences Patrick, and all deal with their traumas differently. Nathan has obviously been in a desperate and passably traumatic situation to resort to such measures, but he is also, like you, your sister, me and every one else, a human being. and one that has risked his life to provide us all with, albeit paid for, entertainment. I care if he rots in hell, if you at all have ever, even in jest, acknowledged Ned Kelly, Billy the Kid or Brendan Abbott, as some sort of antihero or enjoyed heist movies such as Heat, then you sir are a hypocrite. P.S. I live in South East Melbourne should you be man enough to call me a fucking moron to my face. |

After numerous attempts to be a successful thief cum ne'er-do-well, while my Mum kept saying "If you steal, you get stolen from" the penny finally dropped. It took me years to figure out how she got that right. ![]()

Not trying to be a smart arse here, but "Hero" is a pretty well done noun, & often incorrect I think. During the Naval veterans plight to get recognition & medals for it's war victims. Survivors attested to the actions of a gunner whose name escapes me. During WW11, their ship had come under heavy fire. It was ablaze & sinking. The "Abandon ship" siren was wailing & men were fighting for their lives. The Japanese dive bombers & fighters were straffing & bombing as the ship slowly began disappearing below water. The gunner kept firing at the fighters. His shipmates were in awe, that from their life rafts, they watched as his turret sank below the water, but bullets still came streaming. It was that brief last stand of defending his mates when all hope had gone, to all but him, that really defines "Hero", they declared. Ironically, beaureucrats still insisted on a positive identification. I read about this in a magazine around 2001, and those veterans had still not gained the recognition this Hero deserved. I think Chang & Hollows are medical legends, but not hero's JMO |

on the topic though, if you want to take something thats not yours (stealing) agressively, with a weapon that can take someones life, for money, im sorry but you deserve to do time.
what if something went wrong, & someone lost their life, think not only of that person, but their family & friends. |
