that rematch clause has already expired some time ago according to Schaefer.
Also both are with Sauerland. They want to milk Haye and their first fight was a snoozefest. Also they know SNV would KTFO Haye by double punch if it had ever came to rematch. |

Valuev straight up said in a interview that he wasn't interested in a rematch with Haye, claiming to not know of a rematch clause
"My German promoters have not informed me about such a clause. Besides it’s not interesting to me to fight a boxer who is engaged in a ring in track and field meet in the ring." He ducks Vitali, ducks Haye, didn't want the Solis eliminator fight.....JUST RETIRE! |

a re-match ? NO, thanks. I would better see Haye vs Chagaev. But hey i am tired of David Haye, OK i understand you are afraid of Klitschko, but find someone else and FIGHT for god's sake. FIGHT, even if it has to be Valuev, Fight...

Haye made Valuev look like a bum....Valuev would have to become a whole lot more athletic to defeat Haye's strategy. This doesn't seem so likely for a man in his late 30s.
I keep hearing conflicting things about the rematch clause. Was it a rematch clause with Valuev specifically, or does Sauerland get to pick an opponent for Haye to fight in the future? |

From a business perspective, a rematch is in neither fighter's best interests. The first bout was boring, the rematch is likely to be no better. Haye -- who is needs to achieve superstar status in the U.S. market -- cannot not afford another stinker decision win. Valuev, who has lost appeal with the U.S. fan base, and who is an aging fighter nearing the end of his career, is looking for a big-money cash-out fight. Valuev won't get this kind of money in a rematch with Haye.

![]() He won't get a big money cash out fight with anyone other than Vitali, and DK has screwed him out of that, trying to negotiate as if Valuev still had a belt and was a big draw. Valuev might as well retire, he's been exposed and he has no real options at a big fight or a climb back to a title. |

I actually thought Valuev had won that fight with Haye, (I was pretty surprised someone could run away the whole fight, not really land anything clean until the last round and get a win from it). I think he should rematch haye, move a bit faster after him. spark him out and try to get 1 big money fight with a Klitchsko

Valuev ducks nobody as you can see in his fight record. He simply has health problems. He recently underwent surgery (left shoulder, right hand) and has to wait a half year or so until he can make professional training again.

Valuev has some injury and can´t even train for at least six months.
If Sauerland has Haye by the balls due to a contractual obligation there might be a fight against another Sauerland boxer - Povetkin, Pulev, Helenius? |
