They'd certainly make a buck Duke, but $10Mil in endorsements?

10 mil is very optimistic. I would have said 3 mill was optimistic, but with his dad's name it might pull in a bit extra. There are plenty of gold medal winners who never get anywhere near that.

Exactly what I was basing it on mate.

The $$$ success following Olympic gold is very sport specific, and some don't make a razoo.

Just not sure how deep the $$$ well would be for a boxing gold medalist?

Love to see another Kostya though.
Yes money from Russia would make a difference, but again much of it would be because of the Tszyu name, and not so much the achievement. He could probably still make a motza from Russia, without winning any medals. This would be part of reason they want him to go pro ASAP.

LOL whos KT trying to fool here? The kids scalp will be highly sought after by former amateurs with over 50 bouts to their name. Hows Tims experiance in the ring going to match up with this?

He wont win Gold at olympics because he is not experianced enough. Dont get me wrong, i rekon the kids got a bundle of talent but throwing him into the pro ranks when he turns 18 is a huge mistake. KT had over 200 bouts to get where he is today, hows Tim going to achive that feat with fck all experiance? I honestly feel sorry for this kid.

Tim is going well...sharp, snappy puncher but no real power yet. It will come with age as his body develops.

My boy is improving and is a handful for most. Tricky style for a filo and a paw as well. He pushed paul fleming over 6 rds at his first fight here. We lost fair and square but finished stronger than paul. Rematch over longer would be good. Then he beat dianever orcales easily in adealide a few weeks ago over 4 rds although he only got a sd win out of it.

We fight sedat tasci on fri night at cronulla. Im praying they dont clash heads. Should be a good fight if they keep their heads apart.

maybe I'm getting a bit giddy lol

but I didn't mean 10 mil a year....i think if anyone won a gold medal at say 20 years of age - in boxing - at the Olympics for Australia then, especially with this kids name, clean cut looks and presumably lifestyle he would make a motza from public speaking/media/advertising on a yearly basis....

But with the Russian angle the pro ranks is pretty appealing i guess. God I hate to say this but they probably feed him bums and pack arenas in some Russian enclave in the US or even in Russia itself. Ala John Duddy, Joe Mesi and any number of "ethnic" favourites. Or maybe they could just do it here ala Mundine and Green....Kostya obvioulsy notices the cash these guys are undeservedly making.

the only problem with being an amateur in oz is the lack of geniune competition. the AIS is finally getting onto it now - hence the the A and B oz teams spending so long in cuba this year. and after the comm games they're going somewhere in europe for a chunk of weeks, i think. help me out anyone. i'm feeling punch drunk today and the memory isnt working like it should.

As we know, Kostya had an extensive career in both am and pro ranks, and nobody would be better placed to steer young Tim's career than him.

Hope he makes a packet of dough and makes us all proud, however he proceeds.

Cheers mate

He is a great kid, listens well and has great determination. Plus he trains hard. Still rough around the edges but hopefully we keep getting better. He isnt your typical filo, come forward fighter. Interestingly, his uncle was pacs first ever manager.

Apparently this golden gloves am tourny is a real buzz that has grown in to a major date on the am calendar. Some good kids out of tszyus gym.
