Danny Green will fight Croatian Stipe Drews for the WBA light-heavyweight title in Perth on December 16 after negotiations with IBO champ Antonio Tarver broke down yesterday.
``I am delighted to be fighting Drews and his company Universum have been a pleasure to deal with. Totally professional,'' Green told *********.com.au.
``Tarver is a mug. He treated me with total disrespect and contempt. Just four weeks away from when I'm supposed tob be fighting him I still don't have a contract.
``We announced the fight seven weeks ago and we've had one phone call from them in 14 weeks of negotiations.
``Drews is being paid a huge purse to come to Australia and I am honoured to be fighting a great champion for a prestigious title.''
The fight will be held at the 6000-seat Challenge Stadium in Perth.

Tarver is such a wanker he wouldn't sign the contract with only 4 weeks to go

but i guess it hurts more now that Danny is fighting for a genuine world title against a guy who's more than beatable just ask Briggs

Good news. It will be a tough fight though as Stipe is a decent boxer with some skills.
Expect things to get pretty heated and intense as both guys like to fight dirty at times.

I wouldn't be surprised if either fighter gets DQ on the night.

Well i'll be damned. My hate for milkdud Tarver is back to an all time high. To the guy who said it won't happen, you told us all, good on ya. Who really gives a **** about this fight apart from Danny Green ball-lickers, this is another nothing fight that Green can use for years to prop up his own ego.

Drews is a quite dirty boxer so should be interesting if it goes a bit into the trenches.

Nah but he's always talking about this guy and that guy that he's gonna fight in perth, like he's doing it for the city of perth when it's obvious he's doing it because he can get paid plenty for fighting chumps and so he can pretend he's a superstar, the guy's an egomaniac and apparently a complete tosser of a person according to people who actually know him. Better fight for Danny but still very hard.

Sets up the Mundine rematch nicely if he can get through it. And hopefull Briggsy can get a fight or two notched up and be waiting in the wings to fight the winner one day.

Drews is a bit hot and cold but he is always a very awkward opponant to tackle. He certainly looks beatable but his height and style are two things Danny better be ready for.
