Default Darchinyan vs Mares Mexico

Word is that Vic will be going ahead with the defence of his IBO bantamweight title in mexico on the 18/12 against the formidable Abner Mares.

I think this will be a top card with the rematch of Yonny Perez and King kong Agbeko for the IBF strap being the semi main event.

What is everybodies tips for this fight? Im finding it harder and harder to see Vic winning this fight against a young gun, but i felt the same way coming into the Mijares fight.

I feel the same Stiff Jab however Vic is always a massive punchers chance & if he can hurt Mares...Mares is in massive trouble as few have ever survived Vic's power once they are seriously hurt by it.

Even at bantam? I think his power is a bit down there kegs. Barcelona recovered ok and he lived in the sauna for two days before the fight and had Vic hurt on occasions.

I think Vic is slipping mate. Bantam makes it harder for him. I think mares has him covered.

I think Vic's been some way off in his last few fights. If this continues, it could spell disaster. He'll need to recapture his Mjares form.

I was picturing Tomas Rojas walking into that massive shut-the-fuk-uppercut after all the smack he was talking good night to anyone eating that punch no matter the size!!

No doubt PJ...thats another serious question can he carry that power at Bantam like he did at 115 & 112.
So far he hasnt yet prooven so.
Barcelona took his power well...Mares hasnt been in too many wars in his career so his chin/punch resistance will be tested.
I think Vic is certainly heading into the twilight of his career.
If Vic could deliver a couple more great fights in this Bantam tourny it would lead him to a shoe in for the HOF.

I'm not confident of Vic winning this....but I said the same in the Mijares fight.

I'm hoping he starts underdog because that just seems to fire him up.
