About his weight. I dont think he was putting pounds just to make heavyweight. At the time when the cruiserweight limit was 190 I say he couldnt have made 190 without any problems when he was fighting between 215-220.

Well, he said he walks around at 204, but it wouldn't be the first time a guy weighs a hell of alot more than he thinks...
\

He weighed 211 for his last fight, thats not too much to take off for him if he added 6 or 7 pounds by eating...

Chris Byrd vs David Haye
byrd would get knocked out against haye too. he will not dominate anything anymore, he is over the hill. he basically just stands there and waits to be hit. and he doesn't counterpunch as much as he used to do. so he will probably lose on points because of inactivity or get overwhelmed by a pressure fighter/puncher. sorry, chris byrd. you had a good career, but it's only going downwards from here.

Well he said he got out of his training camp for Klitschko at 203 pounds and then ate himself up to 212.

This is, he came out of TRAINING CAMP. Not walk-around weight.

When I'm in tip top shape, my weight is between 202-207.

Really, is that eating what ever the hell you want or still eating properly?

BTY, Byrd would be a great match up for you in the future...

Peace ding. So you have to cut a little before the weigh in? What do you enter the ring at? Do you feel its a big advantage putting on 15 pounds after the weigh in as some pros do? Thanks...

If Byrd beat a name like Hide, then I have a feeling we could see Byrd-Hopkins at some point in the future. I reckon Bernard would definitely have an appetite for that, especially given the comparisons it would bring with Roy Jones.

Chris loves to talk about how small of a guy he is, but I wouldn't be surprized if he has trouble making weight at crusierweight!

I don't know if this is a good move for him either because the heavyweights that have given him the most trouble are the quicker more athletic heavyweights. And guys like Haye, Mormeck, and even Jirov at his best are very quick and very active, things that have caused Byrd lots of problems.

I wish Byrd the best but I think he should retire.

Its all about finding the weight class where you can still be strong 24hrs after hitting the weight.

Of course its an advantage if you come in 15-20lbs more than your opponent, as long as you're at your best when doing that.

When I step into the ring, I'm somewhere in the 205-210 range.

Fighting the Klitshko`s? You could hardly call that fighting. He got pummeled on ALL occasions. His style at heavy was terrible because he didnt have the power to trouble ANYONE and as slippery as he was he only used to hen peck his way to boring decisions. He was essentially a heavyweight Cory Spinks who routinely stunk the joint out.If Chris had made his career at cruiser i believe he would have had an even more succesful career as a boxer and could have possibly challenged Evander as the greatest cruiser of all time. But he spunked it away at heavy getting beat up when it mattered most.

As for his weight.Chris fought as an Am at middleweight and ate his way into a heavyweight. He was never ever a true heavy. May be he couldnt make 190 well never know but either way he bypassed 3 divisions to go up to heavy so il beg to diffeer.
