Like I said Doug Collins had the same team and was regressing with that team. Phil took over the team and they won titles, that is simply a fact. You tried to claim Phil was the only coach of the bulls with those players and that simply isn't a fact at all.

Quote:
Del Harris had a rookie Kobe that was hardly ready for the NBA. Once Kobe blossomed then they gave the keys of the team to phil jackson. 2002-03 season the lakers finished fifth and eliminated in the conf. semis. They made the finals the next year but lost. Phil retired and when rudy took over he had kobe and a bunch of average players with no shaq oneal.
Kobe didn't do **** the first championship Phil had so what are you talking about "kobe blossomed" for. LOL The fact is this though, Phil had the same team as Del Harris and accomplished more with than than Del Harris did.

Phil did better with the same team Rudy and Hamblen had had more wins than they did the next season and eventually took that team of scrubs to the playoffs.

Quote:
When Phil came back they were average and finished third in their division and were eliminated in the first round two years in a row. It wasnt until memphis gift wrapped gasol to the lakers for a bunch of scrubs and some draft picks that they were able to get better.
I agree Gasol trade took them to a contender, but that is irrelevant to the fact that Phil has repeatedly outperformed coaches who had the same team as he did, either before he came to the team or after he left.

Quote:
So once again it is proven that phil jackson can win with a loaded roster and is average with one that isnt.
Phil won with gasol and Kobe, why couldn't Brown do the same? Why can't D'Antoni even get the team on the same page?

Quote:
And to end this debate Lebron James has been in the league for 10 yrs and couldnt win a title until spoelstra started coaching him.
Lebron took a team to the finals by himself, he was gonna win a championship, the question is how many.

Mark Cuban and the OKC organization exposed lil Spo, when they come out after the games and give praise to Pat Rielly and the effort he gets from players and the scheme he runs.

Speaking of coaches, who's winning coach of the year?

I think it's Mark Jackson, Poppavich is also a good shout but he just won it last year and I can't remember the last time somebody won it back to back

Make sound arguments every once in awhile Bama .

Kobe going 29.5/ 7/6 in the first title run in the playoffs wasn't ****? Shaq was 30/14 ,but a29/7/6 break out playoff season for a 20/21 year old Kobe 'ain't ****'?

Nor Phil Jackson realizing that Tyrunn Lue & Derek Fisher couldn't guard AI after game 1 of the Finals & put Kobe on him to finish the Sixers off 4 straight when AI struggled with Kobe's length?

Kobe absolutely destroyed the Spurs in the WCF(actual NBA championship) when David Robinson & Duncan routinely/reasonably held Shaq in check & could have arguably been playoff co-mvp with Shaq.

So you are gonna completely ignore the Lakers collapse in Phil Jackson's final season losing 5 of 7 last reg. Season games, strugging with the N.O. Hornets & embarassed by the Mavs in a sweep?

Mike Brown actually did better down the stretch the next season & put a brave, but futile fight against the younger Thunder.

Stop it. For someone to put up such a Boss defense of Wilt it's shocking how quickly you can turn into a complete troll.

Some of the rest of that **** is misleading as well but..........,

Sucks Irving is out but I bet we still struggle. Bulls havent been the same since Hinrich went down and apparently the roster has a bad habit of dropping like flies. Gutsy guys and a bunch of rejects but something has to be done. 28th ranked offense isn't gonna cut it. Need younger guys, athleticism, and more scoring. D rose cant do it all and the front office cares more for ticket sales than winning championships sadly. Hope he recovers to the beastly form he still can get to.

Lebron has been the more consistent player and defender, but Wade has always had the potential and instints to be a better defender than Lebron, and has been as of late.
Other than the first yr together I believe Wade was/is the best defender on the Heat. I seem to remeber Lebron constantly playing off players, ducking Melo & KD unless its 4th qtr, and mainly guarding the best guys only late in games. Hell Lebron played off a lot the first yr together. Good defender but he just lacks heart to do it as much as he's capable of. MWP still has more heart as a defender than him for instance.

Also, before they joined Wade and Lebron(minus the injury season or cpl think he may have had two) were back and forth. Wade may have actually been the best player in the league 08-09 his best season. May also have gotten robbed of MVP that year but again him and Lebron were back n forth and did so much for their teams. Even together minus recently the Heat have been relying too much on Lebron these past yrs. Not sure if another '12 po run-like streak is in him but props to him for never losing his dedication.

Bama you're still trolling your ass off.

Have a look at kobes stats in the 2nd and 3rd titles.

Shaq was number 1. But without Kobe, the lakers would not have won

Jazz with 2 straight losses are doing their part to assist the Lakers playoff run.

Warriors @ Pacers is worth keeping an eye on for Lakers fans as well.

All that said my point still remains the same, Phil did better than coaches who had the same team as he did.

I'm just playing devil's advocate (the Bama role), but what were his stats in the finals that year?

Fisher going to the Thunder after he was with Dallas is bs. He just wants to piggyback a good team, and he isn't even a good player anymore.

Can you honestly say you wouldn't do the exact same thing if you were him? I know I would.

he's always been average never been a good one but get overhyped for making a few late game shots and being the union representative which brings him a lot of respect
