No Rocky. This guy preceeded Johnny Addie, and was the most famous boxing announcer since Joe Humphries. Announced every major MSG fight in WW#2. He was the guy in WW2 who said to the audience [I was there], when there was a collection for wounded servicemen " the girls are passing through the audience with their little cans,please give til it hurts". We in the audience roared with laughter. The young girls were volunteers,who collected coins and paper money for the troops in little round boxes.
