Oh my Rocky, I have never seen this photo of my favorite gladiator of all-time , Harry Greb. Probably of the first fight in 1922 which my dad saw ringside at the old MSG. ESB, look at the size disparity between Tunney and Greb...At the end of the first fight Tunney looked like he tangled with a threshing machine...

you know just as a footnote. when we see some of these Top Quality black & white photo's, it's a further proof that Film footage of the early 1900s to about the 40s (general speaking), with the 'odd' rarity that was actually done right.

Anyway these Top photo's show everything in perspective, where as the film lets down. Two perfectly oiled machines here in Greb & Tunney, who as Burt always says "walked, talked, ran, worked, shit & _ucked in the same manner as we do today...

it's absolutely mental to think they didn't fight proper either!

see that video of Eric Boon & Johnny McGrory, I put up on the Greb thread. An excellent Still, says as much too.

I'd love to see this experiment : record a fight nowadays using the same methods that where used back then and film the whole fight from the same angle. It would be fun to compare !
