Default Tyson Fury training with Emanuel Steward

Highly-touted British heavyweight prospect Tyson Fury is currently working with the Hall of Fame trainer/manager and HBO commentator Emanuel Steward in Detroit, Michigan. The six-ft, seven-inch tall Manchester, England-born English Heavyweight champion has a record of 12-0 (9 KO’s) and his coming off recent wins over John McDermott and Rich Power. He has earned a shot at Derek Chisora’s British Heavyweight title.

Steward and the 22-year-old Fury have not made any definitive plans to work together on a permanent basis, but our source says it is possible the two could officially join forces in the future. Stay tuned…

Exactly what he needs
Prolonged time with Manny would tighten up his fundamentals and turn that jab into a real weapon

He might become a boring fighter now as steward will drill into him to use his huge reach and smother when hes rushed. But that style will help him go further

Finally, a sign that the man knows he is not as good as his dad and uncle told him he is.

If Steward can A) Gets his ass in shape, B) Get him some decent sparring, C) teach him to fight tall, then Fury can really become something.

Wow, didn't expect that one. Hopefully Steward can get the most out of him, even if he can get him fully in shape he could do very well.

Smart move on Fury's part if it comes off.

Be great to see Steward get him in shape and take him back to basics. I think we'd see a big improvement in his command of the ring, general balance and resulting power if he goes to train with ES.

Tyson has a good chin and a big heart. If he learns to control himself and make use of his size he can have a fine career. Kinda shocked manny has agreed to this. Shows real ambition and seriousness from the big man. Wlad and Lewis were always in great shape so im sure that will be addressed pronto.

Fantastic news. Most people, including myself, have said in the past that Steward would be perfect for Fury's commitment and development as a fighter. I think the first McDermott fight gave Fury a reality check and hopefully he is now finally taking the relevant steps he needs to get as far as he can in the sport. Hopefully this becomes a permanent set-up.

Imagine if that **** 'Chef' from the general started sorting his meals out as well.

Good move. Steward is obviously a pro at making big heavyweights fight tall. Adding a decent jab and ability to control the range and box tall to his ****nal can only help Fury as he needs to be more diverse and adaptable. But I hope he doesn't lose what we've seen so far. He doesn't strike me as the type to box in Wlad's sort of style. He still needs to mix it up and let his hands go in combinations and work the body and press forward at times making his size and presence felt.
