Default my getting in shape for the army log

by august i plan on being able to do the following:

15 pull ups

50 push ups in under two minutes

100 sit ups in under two minutes.

run two miles in under 15 minutes and 5 miles in under 40.

now i got some work ahead of me as i am out of shape and could never do one pull up.

ive started lifting for pull up specific muscles now and will hopefully be able to get at least 6 by mid march.

as far as push ups go the most i can do right now in under two minutes is close to 20-25.

my running time is three miles in 40 minutes but was alot better when i was going to my gym so that will work its way back up.

sit ups arent that much of a problem when im in shape so once i go back to my boxing gym in a couple of weeks that will be no problem i will be posting my workouts for the day hear to keep me motivated on my dream of going airborne in the army and getting my jump wings.

any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I'm guessing you're from michigan ? You need to make sure that you incorporate the beginner exercises for learning a pullup. Simpling doing weightroom pulling exercises (lat pulldown, rows) won't get the job done. Do 4XMAX Timed holds (working up to 4X90-Seconds) and negative pullups (where you start at the top and slowly move downwards). When you are able to complete a few pullups without assistance, look up the "grease the groove method" or design a simple program like this one:

3 Days/Week of 40-Minute Runs/Walks/Jogs (working up to running 5 miles in boots)
2 Days/Week of 15-Minute Runs/Walks/Jogs (working up to running 2 miles in boots)
3 Days/Week of Pushups/Pullups Superset Followed by Crunches/Supermans Superset

Then add whatever you want to the above, as long as it doesn't hinder your main objective. The irony is that you could just adopt a boxing schedule and it would complete your goal. Boxing 4-5 Days, Running 5 Days, then the above Calisthenics on 3 non-consecutive days, 1 day for complete rest from everything. My 2 Cents, hope this helps you out.

You want to be Airborne, right? Just run and do loads of push ups and sit ups everyday. No need for the weights. It's not rocket science. I'm currently training with 4 PARA (that's 4th Battalion, The Parachute Regiment for the non Brits) so know what I'm on about. No point in getting into Tabbing or anything else Airborne since US Airborne don't have any real selection criteria, hence are faggits. But be specific with your log, stop with the ''ran a bit'' stuff. How far did you run? What time did you do it in? Stop being lazy with your log.

Been having trouble getting to my boxing gym because of the distance and lack of mobility so i have been doing simple but effective circuits like this along with running two miles every other day to hold me over in between gym sessions. i increase time as weeks go on this is my recent time at the moment.

1) Bench press* or pushups - max in 2:00
2) Squats - max in 2:00
3) Pullups or pulldowns - 2:00
4) Bike or jog - 3:00
5) Military press* - 2:00
6) Lunges - 1:00 each leg
7) Bicep curls - 1:00
Bike or jog - 3:00
9) Tricep extensions.- 1:00
10) squats - 2:00
11) Situps - 2:00
12) Crunches - 3:00
13) Stretch

Your log is confusing.

How many push up's, sit up's pull up's can you do in 2 mins? How far do you run and in what time?

Don't you have to be able to bench your body weight as well?

This is the shittest log in ESB history. Even Youngtypo's log makes more sense and the dude has the intelligence and common sense of a retarded Bonobo monkey on meth. Either put the effort into making a proper log or just end it. How can you expect to be Airborne if you can't be bothered making a basic internet workout log? Do you know what 'Airborne' is? Do you understand what it takes to be a Shock Trooper? Pull your finger out and put the ****ing effort in. That or join Logistics or 'Fag Corps' aka line infantry. They love people who sit around doing **** all.

Last time I'm asking this: What time did you run? How many push up's, sit up's and pull up's can you do?

i ran two miles in 20 minutes, and in two minutes i can do 35 push ups, pull ups im still working on one, and sit ups i can do 50 in two minutes.

at boxing we started off our workout with 10 minutes of running to warm up. did various stretch routines, then gloved up.

we did 8 rounds on the bag. 1st round involving different combinations the coach called out, 2nd the same, 3rd round we did ten drills, 4th round we did ten drills, 5th round-6th round we did 26 drills, 7-8th rounds we did 30 second drills. the minute rest bell in between rounds. we do 25 jumping jacks.

finished off with a couple of laps and 100 jumping jacks.

a light workout as the coach had to leave early.
