Default I thought Nievas was pretty good...

I think too many people just looked at his record, the fact he hadn't fought outside South America etc., and assumed he was crap.

In reality, he was fit, tough and has good power and decent skills. He's certainly a big 168. If you consider Mger Mkrtchian, Calzaghe's 14th defence, had an 18-1 record at the time and had only fought once outside Russia.

With regards to Choc's performance, he would probably be a little disappointed. More attacking and he may have scored a late KO. But it was an average performance, nothing more nothing less.

Mger Mkrtchian was WBO mandatory after beating Barr - so they don't really compare. Futhermore Mkrtchian went on to beat Chanet for the EBU title and lost a SD to Gogiya - Nievas is never going to get even close to beating guys like Barr and Chanet. It's not the record it's the abilities - Nievas' are limited at best and Mundine shouldn't be fighting a guy like that - if he want to keep fit he can sparre guys like that - but to demand money of people to see a fight like that and call it a worldchampionship-fight is utter crap.

I thought he was tough but he is an average fighter...top 50 I think...but he came to fight and did ok apart from the fact that he ate over 100 clean shots...Mundine 6/10 for his effort.
